Eyemed is tied in with LensCrafters, who wants to charge you an arm and a leg for glasses. If I would have gone to LensCrafters they would have refunded me for $135 for my frames. But since I went to ******* that charged me half the price for frame and lenses, they were only willing to refund me $58. So, pretty much what I got refunded for my frame and lenses was what I paid for the year with my insurance. Definitely not worth it!

There coverage is not very clear and don't make the mistake of assuming your adjustments reset based on a new calendar year. My doctor's office told me eyemed will reset adjustments for the new calendar year but they didn't cover the cost of my contact lenses. Very frustrating to find this out months later after the fact. If you have a choice and need contacts eyemed is not your best bet.

Eye med is charging me a.payment form retinal test. Which I paid to the assistant. When I talked to her she said yes I am paid in full for the retinal test. However, eye doctor is still trying to charge me for something that i already I paid at the place where I had my vision tested. If my vision doctor knows it all been paid ,why didnt my eye eye doctor know?

Don't do it. Find another Eye Insurance company. They are HORRIBLE with customer service. It is impossible to speak to a real service rep (do they even exist?) I wish i could give them 0 stars.

eyeMed is just not reimbursing money as per claim. In my policy, every year we were supposed to get $ 250 each (for my husband and myself) for eye glass, examination and lenses. But when we submitted out of network claim, they submitted only $ 97 and kept $ 153 for themselves even though they collect premium to pay for the benefits. They make rules that only help themselves and based on those rules they deny the claim or pay minimum amount and kept most of money for themselves. Is there any government agency looking into thi... read more

They are a joke!! I have absolutely nothing good to say about this company. They are totally worthless. My wife and myself spent over $1800 for our glasses. They denied my wife and gave me $90.00 back. They told said i was out of network. But the Doctor is in network. once i question there decision. They then told me that the doctor had to file the claim. But being that i turn the paperwork in i was consider out of network. I will never use this insurance again. NEVER!! DONT GET THIS CRAP!!! Why should anyone pay all year fo... read more

Eyemed apparently only makes money by denyingclaims. Two years ago, Eyemed denied my claim because one of my dependents had used the benefit to get an eye exam, and to purchase contacts. When I filed a claim for my benefit, Eyemed refused the claim because my daughter's claim was apparently filed under my name. Here we are 2 years later and I'm experiencing the same issue. My daughter didn't receive another eye exam; however, she purchased contacts under her existing exam (different year). Before going for my own exam, I tho... read more

If I could leave negative stars I would. I was covered with them for a few years, last pair of glasses purchased while covered by Eyemed the coating started coming off. When I called they said my coverage was terminated. I got married and went with my spouse's insurance. They told me there is no warranty and to go to the provider, which was not helpful either. Then the agent I was chatting with just ended the chat. You can't find a number to call them either, it's like they already know they are horrible and they don't want ... read more
