I made the mistake of signing up to be a provider for Eyemed around 2014. Their customer "service" is terrible with extremely long waits on hold, incompetent representatives who make error after error after error, poor communication with their clients (less than 50% of the patients I served even knew they had vision insurance through Eyemed). The only issue that I really have with their insurance is that all of the people that they work with in network to fill contacts require you to have the same lens in both eyes. If you have a different lens in each eye like I do because I have monovision and an astigmatism in one of them, you are not eligible to get contacts at any of their in-network providers because they require the exact same lens and some of them require the exact same prescription in both eyes to fill them. I signed up for this insurance on September 27th, it is now October 13th. I have no member ID, no Group Policy, and can't call anyone on the automated phone because I dont have a policy number.

Despite their bad faith claims in their benefits guide that "Your EyeMed membership lets you see on your own terms, with added savings on alternatives to traditional glasses. EyeMed members get either 15% off standard LASIK prices"After I got LASIK, they told me none of the cost was covered because I didn't use an in-network provider. Of course their website does not provide a list of in-network providers so I don't know how I could have found one.

One of the worst insurance, Hard to get hold of customer service, Automated service will give you "Sorry I didn't understand try back later", Website is amess and doesn't give you the option to search for doctor by specialty, I was looking for pediatric eye doctor and with this insurance is non-existence and they will ask you to call your medical insurance to find one..

I have been trying to get an EOB from EyeMed for at least 2months. One rep talked me through the online sign-in so I could supposedly get them that way. But you cannot open the file online. That person told me to wait 24 hours. The next person I called put in a “ticket”. It would take 3 days to get an email with the “ticket” number. It never arrived. It would take 2-3 weeks to get the EOB by mail. That mail never arrived. Submitting a request via the online contact form had no effect, was never answered. I called again yeste... read more

I also would leave a zero if I could. No customer service. I have ****** ****** ********* and they have picked this rotten company for us. I go to a glasses provoder on ther list (EyeMart) I only need new lenses, frames are nearly new. They take my frames and ruin all the screws and then say "Guess you will need new frames also" I take my lense script and walk out, I contact them via phone and said they would be back to me. for 5 months I have been waiting for my medically necessary contacts to be approved. I have spoken to 18 supervisors who say they are sorry and I should be approved. Yet, I still cannot see properly.
