This is a terrible company to do business with. They denied my claim saying it wasn't legible! And I refiled and they denied because progressive lens aren't "covered", although they have paid for them before. I am 73, have serious eye disease and I am still giving this insurance up-it's lousy.
This is my first time with Eyemed. It is absolutely the worst insurance ever! The customer service should be ashamed of themselves. I've tried to work with them and it has been 4 months with no resolution. Bottom line they are the worst!
They will not reimburse if you use an out of network provider even though they provide directions for getting reimbursed for out of network provider. I used ***** ******for my glass frames and EyeMed refused to pay. They also don't use ******. They are shills for the limited number of providers that they have under contract. What good are they?
Eyemed vision insurance is the worst company to have eyecare insurance for yourself or your employees. Eyemed does not pay the the optometry practice for exam services . There is no required patient copay . Thus the practice can lose money for seeing eyemed patients. Most optometry practices do not accept eyemed vision insurance.
To say the very least this insurance is a nightmare for providers. The "Provider Relations" department is a joke. The past two days have been spent making multiple telephone calls and sending multiple emails trying to figure out why a claim that has never been paid, but isn't showing up on any negative disbursements (THIS IS AN EVEN BIGGER JOKE). I have this provider. I went to get new glasses on 01/18/23. This is one of the worse company that I have ever used. I have been going through a issue for over 2 months now and still no help. I do not know a company as big as this is ran. All this company does is gives you a run around and its coming to a point where this company is terrible. From October 2022 through March 2023 I have contacted them many times regarding an online portal. They told me that my email was previously registered and no longer registered. They were going to delete the old profile so I may register. No response. Called again, same response, going to be escalated. Called AGAIN after not hearing back, and their incompetent IT department is unable to delete that email/log in from the system. This company is terrible. They have their phones rigged to not take calls from humans. I received a statement of benefits and they just keep referring me to three automated system. I need to talk to a human. The online answers are insufficient. Hopefully my company and other companies review these miserable rating from users before making a decision to engage them for their employees.
The customer service person was short and annoyed with me for asking questions. They are no longer allowing me to order my contacts online, told me all online stores are "put of network" and said this is not new...but the past 4 years I have ordered without a problem! They said I can order and get reimbursed but I don't trust that after the service I received. I asked for a manager to speak with and she gave me a phone number and "transferred" me.
