My 10 month old grandson is in Children’s hospital at Erlanger. Had high temp and vomiting...not eating or drinking. They did NO tests until yesterday when they did a nasal swab and took blood. They put an NG tube in. Said this morning that by the time they got around to testing the blood, it had clotted. Now they’re talking about sending him home with an NG tube! They have absolutely NO idea what’s wrong! This is WORSE than Third world healthcare!!!
RecommendedWe had the opportunity to meet with one of the resident Chaplains named James and he was great. He talked with us, laughed with is, and cried with us. His presence was helpful in a troubling time.
Worst experience with healthcare I have had. You can not talk to anybody. They communicate through e mail only. I finally had to go in to see dr, 140 mile trip, Dr Not available, saw pa who bullied us for complaining, After trying to contact them on 6 occasions over a week time period, still could not get answer. Now have to change surgeon which causes a two month delay for surgery, two more months of pain and emotional distress. The whole group is like this, our Dr was Singh
I was transferred from Alabama to Erlanger, and it has been TERRIBLE. I was transferred for spine stenosis with lower extremities numbness (the hospital in Alabama done the CT scan and sent the disk and radiology report with me.) Erlanger staff lost my CT scans (after my husband told them where they laid it), they ran an MRI and told me it was "clear" (but the other hospital caught stenosis and disc bulges?), then I pages a RN to take me to the restroom and did not see a single soul for over an hour and a half. they all work together,one click on computer and they see ur history and they can treat u faster,the only problem is the long wait to see a Dr. I sit there for 6 hours. or longer sometime,they need to have 2 diff places,one for only Emergency and the other for minor things
Not a pleasant experience my husband was not treated well there bad nursing staff
I received a bill from Erlanger yesterday. I had a couple of concerns with it, so I called the number, as instructed on the bill, to speak with someone. I was on hold for over 45 minutes. When I called back, I was given an option to leave a message. When I did not receive a call back today, I tried calling again. I was on hold 45 minutes AGAIN before I hung up and called the hospital operator. She put me through to a manager, but that phone rang until a machine picked up to tell me the inbox was full.
