Sales manager impolite. Allow me to elaborate. I got a nice form email from the General Manager of this dealer telling me what a wonderful dealer they are with a great sales and service staff, free coffee, etc. Then the Sales Manager (don't remember his name) called in reference to a specific type of car I was looking for--a 2022 Elantra Hybrid. Best experience buying cars over the past 10 years, Personally leased 5 or 6, sent at least 10 customers over there. **** the general manager is amazing. I even met the owner once ***.I highly recommend this dealership.

They replied to my initial inquiry immediately but did not have the answers I was looking for as the car was not yet available even though they had posted it for sale on cargurus. They never did reply again with the answers to my questions and when the ad for the car was finally updated the price was ridiculously high.

My family has purchased 2 vehicles from Elgin Hyundai. I personally will not buy another vehicle from this place. Took a family friend there to purchase a new vehicle. This is the reason you buy a car and keep it 15 years. They are taking full advantage of the current market and chip shortage. The markups were unbelievable. There was the additional freight charge of $1k, They call it Inland freight. Test drive was a bit brief but it was long enough to feel everything I hoped to feel with this car. Negotiations were a shell game of hide and seek (as they are everywhere these days) but I agreed to a deal that wouldn't provoke night sweats. Delivery was confusing as it was my salesman's day off and while pleasant and accommodating, no one quite seemed to know what to do with me. Call the dealer about the truck and ended up playing phone tag with the rep. Finally I call them again and decided to talk to someone else to negotiate the price of the truck and the lady was not very professional. This dealer is also adding about $2600 dollars to the listed price in dealers fees meaning more profits for them . Call several times and that lady actually give me that information after another person told me they dont do that the listed price is the price plus of course taxes and plates. Spoke with salesperson, test drove car, started talking finances and before I even mentioned the ad I saw on ******** with $3,700 down and $199 or 1.9% 60 month. The salesperson said, Oh all our deals changed yesterday. While the salesperson went to get current "deals", I pulled up the still live ad on ********. She came back with down payments double what was in the ad and payments more than double. BAIT & SWITCH. Unacceptable. I walked out.
