Look no further, Dr. Alvarez is the BEST!!!. I'm one of those people that have more cavities than teeth (or so it seems), & a trip to the dentist is always a traumatic experience. Not with Dr. Alvarez! I spent about 4 1/2 hours in his chair (did I mention I have bad teeth?) & I did not feel a minute of pain. Dr. Alvarez has been my dentist for the last two and half years, since being enthusiastically referred to my by my uncle, who works in the area. Dr. Alvarez has been practicing for about 10 years and has a small practice in Murray Hill. He performs all procedures, including routine cleanings, himself and is one of the friendliest doctors I've ever had in any field. He also is a pioneer in the use of lasers in dentistry. Having known Dr. Alvarez for several years, i went into my major cosmetic oral surgery without fear or reservations. He is extremely skilled, very professional, friendly, and the results simply speak for themselves. My teeth looked great! I would highly recommend Dr. Alvarez for everything from a routine check-up to dramatic cosmetic work. He does great work!
I came to Dr. Alvarez in alot of pain as an emergency patient, but Dr. Alvarez saved the day for me! Before he started any work, Dr. Alvarez patiently explained all my options to me including what he would do and gave me time to decide. I have lived in New York for 15 years and still went to my dentist in Michigan because of my fear of pain (my dentist in Michigan treated me very gently). But I broke down because of a sore tooth and went to see Dr. Alvarez. I am so glad I did and disappointed in myself for waiting so long! He is wonderful, everything about him. I had my impacted wisdom teeth taking out by Dr. Alvarez today. I'm very scared of going to the dentist; call me a big baby if you want. I'm afraid of the needle, and the drill. Dr. Alvarez and his staff Karen, and Tracy did a fantastic job of making me feel comfortable. My criteria for picking Dr. Alvarez were very demanding. Dr. Alvarez is, all around, the best dentist I've been to. After only a couple visits, I realized how many advancements in the field of dentistry my previous provider had been letting me miss out on. Everything from the laser used instead of a classic dental drill to the complete x-ray taken of each one of my teeth individually.
