I selected Dr. Alvarez based on the reviews from this site and so far he has turned out to be the best dentist that I've ever had. He has performed extensive procedures including everything involved with crowns. I've been very impressed with the results. He's patient and he explains everything. His staff is also very friendly and thorough. I recommend him to all of my friends.
The Laser is the best thing ever!! I have a huge problem with Novocaine. Not just because the needles hurt but because it can take up to 3 or 4 injections of Novocaine to get me numb. It's was always a painful and time consuming process for me to go to the dentist. Dr. Alvarez is on of the leading dentists using lasers in replacement of the archaic Novocaine/drill torture. I have probably been in Dr. Alvarez' care for about 7 years now....prior to that, I hadn't seen a dentist for probably 20 years. A few bad experiences growing up, made me extremely fearful and anxoius. But I met Dr. Alvarez at a local food establishment, (as he practices in my neighborhood) and had a conversation with him. I had had an old root canal and crown completely fall out and get lost,leaving me with a gaping whole in my mouth. Prior to this, had been confused by other dentists who either seemed scarily aggressive (and expensive) or completely laissez-faire about the tooth's condition. I cant say enough about Dr. Alvarez. Dr. Alvarez is a wonderful person and a phenomenal dentist. He is the reason why I got back into the chair to have work done after four years of not seeing a dentist and actually go back every 6 months for checkups. He is extremely friendly, caring and so gentle. I recommend him to anyone who is looking for an honest, gentle and skilled dentist.
Doctor Alvarez is hands down the best dentist I have ever been to. He uses the latest technology and even teaches other dentists how to incorporate new technology into their practices. Dr. Alvarez performed root canal on me with a laser drill and it was so painless that I went to work immediately after the procedure was complete. After years of dealing with DMO dentists, this was a REFRESHING CHANGE. My procedure was done right the first time with NO additional visits, ZERO PAIN, and unusually no blood!! The entire staff was EXTREMELY friendly, but that did not take away from the professionalism exhibited by all. Dr. Alvarez is an amazing dentist and wonderful person; every visit further confirms this! After having suffered through many cavities as a child, I was absolutely terrified of the dentist until I started seeing him. Dr. Alvarez actually made the removal of four wisdom teeth at the same time feel like an easy procedure and kept it completely pain free.
