Dr. Thompson, in my experience, has always been the at the very top of what a doctor should be. He has performed two finger surgeries and a significant repair for an elbow injury with total recovery in each case so his capabilities are beyond reproach. He is outgoing, always has time for a little chit-chat, listens intently to his patients and explains any situation in down to earth terms. I would recommend him to anyone.
I've known Dr. Thompson since 2005 when he first operated on my right shoulder. He's the best hand/elbow/shoulder surgeon in Tucson in my opinion (and I've been to several others over the last 20 years when insurance would not cover Dr. Thompson), so I know a bit about this subject. I have been a patient of Dr Thompson for about 20 years. He has performed 2-3 surgeries on my hand. I always recuperate to about 100% following these surgeries. He is not quick to suggest surgery without trying the easier fix. I trust his advice and surgical recommendations. He has a great “bedside manner”.
Dr Thompson has always been the best at explaining your problem and how is to fix it. He makes me know I am in the best hands. He repaired my shoulder three years ago. It's nearly as good as new!
