I'm afraid that my review is prejudiced. My primary physician recommended an orthopedic surgeon with an impressive reputation who, in my opinion, considered himself omniscient and infallible. In essence, he took a cursory look at me, my X-rays, and my age (87), and concluded that nothing could be done. He was arrogant, patronizing, and seemed insulted by my questions. Commended me for having all my information organized. Gave me the assessment from my MRI, although it wasn’t the same as my PCP, he explained my issues very well. Answered all my questions and told me what I could do and when I should follow up.
I have been with Dr. Thompson for many years and this was the first visit he seemed rushed and did not have time to discuss my issues. He has always been a very caring doctor until this visit.
I've been to Dr Thompson with trigger finger problems in the past and most recently saw him for a wrist issue. He has a rare combination of competence and caring. I would highly recommend him to anyone. You will leave with a full understanding of your issue and having confidence in his ability to resolve the problem.
I will not go to anyone else for my hand, elbow and shoulder needs. Dr. Thompson has been my provider for over 12 years. His knowledge, experience and handling of patients is unmatchable. Definitely an asset to TOI.

Great experience. Dr. Thompson was capable of performing a new surgical procedure that kept me from having a much more involved surgery. So far so good.
