He did a great job on my shoulder surgery four years ago! Still no pain there
Having been unable to get a surgical opinion from two TOI doctors, I was referred to Dr. Thompson. I was very impressed with his NP, Alex. Upon meeting the doctor, I was immediately put at ease by his manner and personality- certainly not your typical surgeon! His skill at injecting my joints was amazing- nearly painless- I'm usually stifling a scream. All my questions and concerns were addressed, and I am looking forward to having surgery soon. Excellent surgeon. Confident in his skills without being cocky or condescending. Great bedside manner, very personable. I wish my PCP was this good.
Painful shoulder for several months. Dr. Thompson took time to have my shoulder x-rayed, then explained what he saw on the x-ray and after examining my range of motion and pain level he offered information and recommended treatment. After experiencing a painless injection and understanding that my options for continuing treatment as needed are open I left very satisfied. As always he is compassionate, gentle, touches all bases of what I am there for, helps with suggestion to ease discomfort, all in all I think he is awesome!
Dr. Thompson gave me two cortisone shots in my shoulders, explained it well and answered my ?’s easily. He also is kind and calming, as I get a tad scared with needles. His NP was kind too and held my hand when I asked if she would. I would highly recommend Dr Joel Thompson to anyone who needed orthopedic help with their hands and/or shoulders. My vote is 5 stars - everyone working there was very nice and caring to me and other patients - and that’s how it should be! Two thumbs up, way up!
The office staff was wondering and Dr. Thompson was very nice and explained my condition so I understood. I would recommend him to anyone who has hand/shoulder problems. Thank you
