Dr. Thompson is an excellent surgeon and a very kind person. He has treated my bad shoulder for years but I recently decided it was time to replace it. He never pushed surgery but agreed with me that it was finally time. He was always available to answer questions after surgery, even providing me with his cell number.
Dr. Joel is thorough and his expertise is apparent. He is such a kind Dr. I have a lot of pain and he has helped tremendously without surgery. I feel very confident with his care!

My experiences with Dr. Thompson began in August 2019 when I discovered I was in need of shoulder replacements. I did an extensive amount of research trying to make sure I was choosing the right doc for this complex invasive surgery. I really can’t say enough positive things about working with Dr. Thompson. Having been unable to get a surgical opinion from two TOI doctors, I was referred to Dr. Thompson. I was very impressed with his NP, Alex. Upon meeting the doctor, I was immediately put at ease by his manner and personality- certainly not your typical surgeon!
