Excellent physician. Very thorough and knowledgeable. Takes time to inform patient about treatment options.
I have visited Doctor Thompson for both Rotator Cuff surgery and for several hand problems. His expertise in the Hand and Shoulder area of practice is above and beyond all others. I would highly recommend Doctor Thompson to anyone with pain or surgery needs in their hands or shoulders.
Dr. Thompson is a great listener and soother. I trust him and I am so happy that he is at Tucson orthopedic.

I was called into the exam room close to the scheduled time. Was seen by His Nurse Practitioner and then by Dr. Thompson. He ordered a cortisone injection and was in and out within half hour.
Dr. Joel Thompson is a 5 star physician & human being. My Surgeon & doctor of 8 yrs, he LISTENS to my concerns & guides me toward the best route toward my recovery. There is no ego involved with Dr. Thompson; but, incredible knowledge and compassion. I am grateful to be his patient.
Dr Thompson is the best. He cares, he explains procedures, he recommends surgery only when necessary. All of my procedures have been successful.
I have been a patient of Dr. Joel Thompson's for guite a while(10 years +). Had received advice from friends to try their doctors but to be honest in researching them, they were not anywhere close to Dr. Joel. He is compassionate,understanding, you never feel you have been rushed through your appointment without you, concerns being addressed, most of all, he is more than competent .
