BEWARE! Dish is scamming their customers! I have been scammed by their customer service dept and now sent to collections!!! After being a loyal and good customer for years! They can not prove to me that I owe them the money, nor that I used their service. I disconnected last year because I was moving. They put me on some kind of pause. I just canceled my Dish service. After about 3 months without HBO I have run out of patience. Dish said I have 6 mo. left on my contract and would have to buy it out in order to cancel. That is what I chose to do, but I feel some concession should have been made since HBO is no longer available. Will not use Dish again. Jim *
My complaint is deceptive sale tactics with sending out mailers that entice you to call for Dish Network services. I received a mailer advertising an approval code for Dish service for any program package of my choosing. When I called the sales # on the letter the sales person was more that glad to help choose my package plus offer up additional channels for a price of $82.41 per month. I just got Dish installed and then found out they could not find a internet service to bundle with. 18 hours of having the service I wanted to cancel. I needed to find a different provider that would provide internet. I did not realize I had signed a contract. The installer had me sign a couple of times on his phone that I could not see. They would not cancel contract and charged me $480. They told me there is no grace period and I could not back out without paying. Customer service is horrible. They won't let me cancel my service online. Says I have to call the 866 number. Currently on the phone with a 17 minute wait. I just want them out of my life. They went up 40% on my bill with no warning.

Dish Satellite Network is perpetrating a fraud to get people to refer friends and neighbors to their Network. They are refusing to allow the redemption of points for having done a referral.

I recently cancelled service with Dish Network. I have a lot of equipment from Dish Network that I wanted to return; however since the equipment is over 5 years old, it is deemed obsolete and Dish representative told me to sell it or dispose it. I took their advice and sold one of the receivers on ebay. They buyer just contacted me that Dish receiver cannot be activated because it was leased from Dish. HORRENDOUS service experience! Anything, I mean anything would be better than Dish Network! Technician was here over 8 Hrs to do a 2 Hr job. Another tech had to come the following day to “try” fixing day 1. Wasted a day sitting here while he tried to set up the system and in turn Dish wanted to offer us $20 for our “inconvenience!. My weekend is worth more than $20 dollars. Do your self a favor,, stay away from Dish Network,

I’ve had Dish for 15 yrs. They recently got into haggle with my local NBC channel out of Chattanooga over pricing. After reading few articles online they have this issue with several networks and movie channels. We all pay for programming and we are not getting what we pay for. Example, TV Land is extending their evening programs that normally are thirty min to 35 and 40 mins. long. This means 20 mins of commercials. We are paying for this plus commercials. This is enough.
