Wonderful Experience – We had dinner in the enoteca, which serves a 4 course meal for $45. The food was excellent (the butternut squash appetizer, octopus, and the calamari for appetizers were amazing; the garganelli and the orrechiete (spicy!) were fabulous, and my favorite dessert was the lemon icy-thing that was amazing. The meat dishes were okay (we had the cod, beef, and the pork dishes) and could have been better. The decor was simply wonderful - elegant, romantic, spacious, and intimate. And the service was the best I... read more

Del Posto is a Must we loved it – We had the 5-course Prefix menu there last night for dinner. It was in the Enoteca, which is the more casual section of the restaurant. We were greeted nicely upon arrival by the hostess, and received terrific service throughout the meal, even from the busboy....who was very professional.... I thought the food was GREAT!!! We travel to Anguilla and beautiful islands and love "great food" in NYC..so I think it definitely ranks as one of my favorites now..... The calamari fritti is a must! I w... read more

Take it or Leave It – Food was pretty good,, not fantastic but good, wine list was volumious although most selections started at the $100 plus range, service lacked personality but they got the job done, nice space, big price $45 and up for entrees, on Xmas eve our party of 7 was charged $21 for bowl of spaghetti with butter for our 2 year old. In summary big price big space small wow..

Great Service, good food but not out of this world – The decor is beautiful. We sat on the second floor overlooking the restaurant and it was a spectacular view. The service was very prompt. We had our own waiter describe the menu and the food as it came out. The food itself was very tasty but I almost felt like something was missing but overall very satisfying.

Average food, great service – I went to Del Posto with a group of foodies and winos and we literally ordered everything on the menu. The food was average at best...nothing spectacular about it. Some of our dishes (esp. pasta) were lacking in flavor. While the food was not up to par, the service was great and the sommelier was very helpful. I will disappointed with our meal and would not return, nor reccommend anyone to fork out the $ for an "eh" meal at Del Posto.

Superior Dining Experience – Everything about our dinner at Del Posto was fabulous... the food, the wine and the service. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and everything we ate was delicious. It was very expensive but well worth it!

Terrific homemade pasta and bread; sensational veal; incredible wine list; outstanding service. – This was, without question, one of the best meals of my life. From the moment you walk in you notice the beautiful decor and unique layout. There really isn't a "bad" table in the place, but I would recommend requesting the balcony or the back. The balcony seating is really great with a view of the whole restaurant. The meal was absolutely fabulous, the homemade pasta and bread is incredible. I shared the veal chop for two with ... read more

Outstanding experience – We had a birthday dinner with a party of four in the enoteca section on a Friday evening in September '07 and were wowed from start to finish. The service was impeccable and the food was fantastic. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The prix fixe has to be one of the best deals in the city. We are all looking forward to returning soon.

Outstanding food, service, ambience – An Australian in New York and dining out 20 times in a month at NY's reputedly marvellous restaurants. Del Posto trumps them all. In my 60's and having dined in some outstanding restaurants in europe and Australia I can honestly say Del posto is up there with the best of them for a total dining experience. My partner and I selected the $85 set (shared) menu...marvellous food, exquisite lobster, duck and souffle... all of the highest quality. excellent sommelier and service generally. Only... read more
