The weirdest thing in the service – Had dinner last night and took the tasting menu. I think the food was ok but not that good or exceptional that you have to spend a lot of time just to make a reservation. Service was ok with the only problem that the person who drop the food and name it to you have a very bad english that you don't understand what he's saying. The guy wearing a suit ( server, captain or ??) who come after for the description does not really explain it to you but just repeat the name on the menu. The weirde... read more

Avoid this restaurant – Del Posto was an enormous letdown. The service was poor. Our waiter reluctantly and unenthusiastically answered my questions about the menu. In fact, the most enthusiasm he showed was when asking a dining companion where he bought his eyeglasses! The servers had to ask "who ordered the risotto?" and mysteriously placed two espressos on the table, which no one had ordered (btw, there were 6 of us). The servers also chatted with one another in Spanish while serving the table, which I consider to be unpr... read more

DEL POSTO: DELICIOUSLY DELIGHTFUL! – I enjoyed one of the most fabulous dining experiences of my life at Del Posto. I visited for the first time for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner and every expectation I had was met, and then some. To start, the decor is fabulous: tables are spaced out enough so that you feel you have privacy yet you are still connected to "the scene". The staff is gracious and welcoming; never suffocating but always attentive and clearly caring about providing stellar service. The food was just over-the-... read more

Grand Setting, Great Food – Visited at lunch during Restaurant Week. Hostesses, bartender, and wait staff were all very friendly and accomodating. Ambiance was warm even though the interior is mostly marble and dark wood. Warm bread basket was excellent and served with butter and lardon with rosemary. Lardon was incredibly rich but an interesting addition to the bread. Entrees were delicious (I had spinach garganelli and my friend pork loin) meat was perfectly cooked and savory. Dessert was the highlight as ricotta cheesecak... read more

Perfectly professional, fabulous food, wonderful service, beautiful setting! – Del Posto is a place I've been wanting to go to for a while now, and finally did this weekend. We went EARLY on Sunday at 4:30 because I had family in town and they had to leave the city by 6:30pm. So, we were the first table in for dinner service on Sunday. Given this was not a busy time, so the waitstaff was HIGHLY attentive and our waitress was so knowledgable, nice and professional! The restaurant itself is beautiful, its a white linen type of... read more

Solid, not extraordinary – I and five of my friends visited Del Posto two nights ago and dined from the Enoteca menu. I have spent years working the Manhattan restaurant industry, and two of my guests were prominent figures in the industry as well (a maitre d' and a pastry chef). While I generally avoid eating out on Saturday nights, the crowd was not distracting, and the service did not seem to suffer. We ate late, ordering at 11:30, and all partook from the $41 four-course prix fixe menu (a surprising value for the venue).... read more

It was delicious... meat falling off the bone over a bed of rice(?) or risotto(?). Dessert was the chocolate tort. Good but nothing special. My friend had th... read more

Great Ambience, Professional Service, Disappointing Food – We went to Del Posto for our 10th anniversary looking for gourmet surprises chez M. Batali. The ambience was great, very professional but not very friendly service and below average food. We got the tasting menu which was a disappointment. Food was very plain excpet for the seared tuna and the risotto with clams. The dessert, nut mousse, was OK for a place like that. For the amount of money we have paid we expected more from Batali. I made a lot of his recipes at hom... read more
