We originally went to el captain, Boo! This has a nice family run setting. The prices were very reasonable and the food portion was more than bueno. We both ordered the gorditas and we liked the huge glasses of soda. The service was quick and very attentive. I see why John Madden likes the place and I wish there was football on at the time.
Good Mexican food at a good price. Portions are large and the menu has an abundance of choices. The restaurant is old but appears to be pretty clean. once seated our food was on the table in five minutes. The bottled beer is cold and a good choice to accompany the food. We had enchiladas, and the Mexican plate. Both were good and very filling.
I live in east Texas now, but am from El Paso. This place has wonderful authentic Mexican food! Tex-Mex is not authentic and any restaurant on this side of Texas would not make it if they were. You don't come for atmosphere (or service really, although our service was great friendly, and fast), you come to enjoy real Mexican food! Don't come if you are a health nut. Come enjoy the amazing food at this authentic hole-in-the-wall! Want to experience border food workout having to cross the border? This is it!!
Chuy's Drive In - has plenty of seating inside the Restaurant. Has been in the same location since 1959. The staff takes excellent care of you the customer. Burgers and fries with a milk shake takes you back to the good old 50's
Finding this good eat restaurant in the middle of no where was a plus for our travel. Friendly staff and not a long wait for your food.
Stop here! You won't be disappointed. Real Mexican food!!! Chile Verde was amazing. Rice great Just do it!

We were staying at the Hampton Inn on the outskirts of town, driving a U-Haul. We'd hoped to be able to walk to dinner, but nothing was close-by. The manager recommended Chuy's and told us there would be plenty of room to park. It was easy to find (Van Horn's not that big) and there was a nice. large lot to park the U-Haul.
