My husband & I enjoy this place. We stop here when taking road trips east. The service is always excellent and the food is good. I had the chicken enchiladas this time. The green sauce is very well flavored, not too hot and lots on the plate. My husband had the chicken tacos and said they were great. They serve the meals with Spanish rice (really tasty) and pinto beans. Only reason this is not a 5, I prefer retried beans. Just passing by and visiting from Mexico we felt like trying something familiar. We were not disappointed. The food was just like back home. Typical road side restaurant with a lot of sports memorabilia. Could be catalogued as sports bar.
West Texas beyond El Paso on I-10E is terrible for food options. We stopped here out of desperation and were surprised and pleased by the fact that it was family owned and operated. Authentic handmade Mexican and TexMex as well as American. Good portions at a reasonable price. Look for it as there isn't many choices along the way.
Chuy's is a Mexican Restaurant in Van Horn. What makes it an icon is that it was a favorite of John Madden when he was traveling by bus to his broadcasts of Pro Football. Had a Mexican combo supper. Chips good, sauce pretty spicy! Service good as well. Would return on another trip through Van Horn
We took our food back to the hotel. I had the chicken taco plate. It was delicious. I would love to go back again if we are ever in town.
I stopped here only because of the nostalgia that is associated with this place. The service was fast, friendly and lively! I enjoyed the food here and I would come back here again!
After traveling almost 11 hours, we once again asked our motel desk clerk for recommendations for various restaurants - this was one of them. We both love Mexican food & as my husband is Mexican, we have eaten some of the best. Our waitress was Elena & she was very friendly & accommodating. The chips & salsa were great, which is a good indication of the restaurant's food. We each had a burrito our way, adding beans & rice inside + sour cream/guacamole on the side
