For some Mexican treats, walk in to Chuy's Restaurant. Watch it, if you're the health conscious type, then this place is not for you! The food can be a bit oily and cheesy. The fajitas are a good try.

We were pleasantly surprised once we received our food! The food was very authentic Mexican and the servings were a good size. The menu had a nice selection and the prices were more than fair. All five of us in our family left happy and full.
Was a short walk from our hotel and we were pleasantly surprised. Service was good and some of the best Mexican food that we have eaten.
Home of the John Maddens Hall of Fame, lots of pictures of stars on the walls, a quaint place. Loved the food. Reasonably priced
I adore this place, the food is authentic Tex Mex. I love the building's vibrant vibe. Where else can you see Jesus and John Madden on the wall in the same place. There is a little art/junk place next to it that has some very interesting pieces. Go and have a great adventure : )
We enjoyed the food, the service was prompt and friendly. I had the chicken enchiladas and hubby has the chili rellanos. We both enjoyed our meal. They have a mural in the John Madden room (apparently he eats here) depicting John's bus, the restaurant and Jesus. Right next to that is a beer sign. Thought that was funny. We would eat here again.
I had eaten at Chuy's a few years ago with a group of folks and enjoyed the food then. I was staying in Van Horn the other night and decided to go back to Chuy's. I was not disappointed. The food was excellent, as was the service and the price. Admittedly, I am not a connoisseur of Mexican food. But the food at Chuy's (I had the #10 combo...beef and potatoes) was a few cuts above the food that I have had in other Mexican restaurants. I definitely would return.
There we were. A pack of hungry Martinezes!! Hundreds of miles from home and many hours between our last real meal. Snacks can only carry a family of 9 so far until the hunger and irritability set in and we start to snap at each other. The first stop in van horn led us here so we were in no mood or shape to hunt around. As we entered, we were instantly greeted by a gentleman and celebrity memorabilia. this place had some history. also known as john maddens haul of fame, this place has character on top of stellar service. We don't often get around to this part of Texas when we travel but, when we do, I like to stop at Chuy's for lunch/dinner. On this stop, I tried the gorditas. The flavor was good! The corn "tortilla" was crispy, good texture, great seasoning, and stuffed with tasty ground beef. The rice and beans that came with it were equally good.
This restaurant is just always excellent...i love their food, their quick, and very attentive to your needs....
