Casteel came out because our one year old AC had stopped running. The service technician was nice but misdiagnosed the issue. We were told that the furnace fan motor had gone out and the motor would be covered but the labor would not. We decided to call the company that installed the system for a second opinion. They tested the fan motor and it was fine. It turned out to be the computer circuit board. We paid to be part of a plan to have our heating and air serviced 1x/year each. They failed to proactively reach out to us for our spring service for the ac units. I called them after our ac wasn't cooling quite enough when we had party of about 20 at our house. The guy who came out wouldn't tell us what he did, rather sat there and told us all the things that were wrong with our system and tried to sell us on a new unit. We recently purchase a new heating and air system from Casteel. From beginning to the end they have excellent customer service. They are a MUST call for your heating, air and plumbing needs.
I was duped by a tech that convinced me to pay an extra $189 for a hard start kit. He assured me I wouldn't have the same issue again and it would increase the longevity of my unit. Well here I am less than a year later with no A/C. It's no coincidence that I chose Casteel via Home Depot contractor home services, which is currently facing scrutiny and investigation for it's contractor's unscrupulous business practices. Did not have a good experience with this company. Felt they were very dishonest, gave us the run around and had no since of urgency to get back to us, after 7 days of waiting I had 2 different companies at my home able to fix the problem in less than 3 hrs. Would NOT recommend!
