Awful company, I was on forbearance for 10 months which saved me through covid, but when I made all those payments beginning of January and requested to be off forbearance and they never took me off of it, now it’s the end of March and no change. Tried to get some financing for a camper and that active forbearance got me denied. They don’t report your payments to the credit bureau either. Looked at my credit report and none of my payments are on there.

I am in a unique situation. My father passed suddenly and I am attempting to obtain successor of the home I reside in with my husband and children. The mortgage was sold to Carrington in January. I was unable to make a payment or receive any information. I made two "ghost" payments since I was unable to have any information of the home I reside in and make payments. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & TECHNOLOGY. Had a scheduled payment that I CANCELED and paid early. They happily took out both payments (with late fees) and then claimed there was nothing they could do to reverse the payment. Veila - ID#*****, claimed to be a Supervisor and could have CARED LESS about my situation. I am very technically capable and know I how to work my mortgage account. After 41 days of telling me all my paperwork was good for a VA loan they totally turned their back on me. Loan processors in Arizona were totally unhelpful and what I was told was good from the beginning wasn’t good in the end and I was denied. After giving notice, packing boxes and planning my life, it was taken away that fast because of lies and unethical practices. I would never recommend this company to anyone. My life is in shambles now!

By far the worst company that I have ever dealt with! Stay far away from this Mortgage Company, they have absolutely no idea of what they are going. We submitted two checks to get endorsed by them and it is going on 4 weeks! We have sent them all the documentation and they have ZERO clue what to do. They keep giving us the run-a-round! Tried to do a refinance with Carrington in the fall of 2020. I had a disappointing and unprofessional experience. They kept changing the requirements and asking me to provide random documents which were never standardized in the beginning. Almost as if they were making up these document requirements on the fly. I ended up cancelling the process out of frustration. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

While my mortgage was serviced by Carrington they had the worst customer service I ever had to deal with. I initially did not have them when I acquired my home loan they bought my loan from them and I had no say in the matter. Carrington would not do anything to help during the pandemic and all they were worried about was collecting money. I have since sold my house and I will do ever thing in my power to never have to deal with them ever again. Worst mortgage company ever.

Carrington is horrible. Recently they have wrecked my life. Both myself and my wife lost our jobs so we took the COVID payment deferral option then the forbearance option. At first they stated that nothing would be negatively reported to the credit bureaus but they lied, they reported numerous missed payments which was false since I was making the payments according to their contract I signed. No client should pay their mortgage on time and then have Carrington make false claims that the account balance is increasing or that paying clients owe money. On three different occasions, we were informed everything was taken care of since Carrington had mistakenly sent late fees and claimed we never paid on-time. After that, they still falsely reported to a credit bureau an increased mortgage balance instead of a decreased balance.
