We originally purchased our home in September of 2020 and it took Carrington until December to give us a closing date. We had to resubmit documents several times that we had already submitted. We were told to get quotes for mortgage insurance and submit to them by a certain time which we did only to find out the day before closing that the company we were going through cancelled the policy because Carrington took so long to submit a closing date and they thought we were going through someone else. This lender has terrible customer service. Do not give them any of your money. They bought out my loan and then approached me to refinance with them. After my previous loan was closed they proceeded to charge me an additional payment. When I first called customer service the person I spoke with had no idea how to deal with my issue so I requested a call back from the supervisor. **** of America sold my loan to Carrington in 2015 and I have never had a single problem or issue with this company. I have always paid my mortgage on time, the website is easy to navigate, including ability to make online payments, and the one or two times I called in to discuss my escrow I was greeted and treated pleasantly.

I would give less than one star if possible. Carrington Mortgage purchased our mortgage from Chase. They called in May with an attractive refinance offer. We initiated the process in June and have yet to get a final closing date. That's correct, four months to refinance a mortgage for an EXISTING customer. We have contacted the loan officer and closing agents countless times with no resolution. Each time we get a different excuse as to why they had to move the closing date. We recently refinanced our house and were working with *******************, Senior Loan Officer at Carrington Mortgage Services. At first we were impressed by their offer - until we shopped around. They tried charging us an extra $7,500 in fees compared to other lenders. Their process was not transparent - using "non-refundable" lender credits. Loan estimates were wildly inaccurate. They honestly dont even deserve one star. Carrington Mortgage was sold my original loan, I never missed a payment or had a complaint from me or anything. End of February, early March of ********************** to refinance to lower my interest rate. Sure if I can cut it in half, go for it. To start the loan officer worked with me beautifully. I've been trying to refinance with another company for over a month now. All the sudden my account shows a 2 year past due amount that is supposedly fees from a reinstatement in 2019 that coincidentally is the EXACT amount of my monthly mortgage payment. While I didn't agree with the fees I didn't have time to contest them so I just paid them. Even after MULTIPLE phone calls they still misapplied it and counted it as my October payment.
