Horrible customer service. My ********************** was sold to Carrington in January 2022. I received my April **** and it is approximately $25 more than what I've been paying since purchasing my home. I called customer service and the rep indicated my PMI insurance increased to $320/ month (it was $120). I asked her why it increased so much but she didn't know so transferred me. We sent in our papers and we were told; the ones for us and sign and send times **** told us we were lying and never sent in our signed papers. We signed and sent in x3 times. We are over 70 yrs and told her we did not have a computer to to send papers back and forth to send papers. Ever one has a fax and and email! has a computer I told her I was profoundly deaf and would need patience and the help of my wife which she would not allows. 3/18/2022 I received various credit alerts from my credit monitoring services that Carrington has "flagged my account as a modification". I have never been late let alone 30 days late with them or my previous lenders. I did modify my loan in February 2011 and have never missed anything since then.I called them today to ask what was going on and was on the phone with them for 33 minutes and was suddenly hung up on. If only reviews had an effect on BBB scores for this company. My mortgage was sold to Carrington in August of last year and it has been an uphill battle since. My originating lender held my mortgage for over a year and were great in the customer service department. i actually reached out to them in order to find a resolution to dealing with Carrington. This company loves young or first time home buyers and heres whyThey have a reputation of telling people they can get you a fix rate loan. But will wait until two days before you close and tell you that the under writer did not approve the loan. So since they know you are excited about the home you were finally able to get in this competitive market they will do a switch and bate. I made a payment of ****** through ACH from my bank. Carrington claims that violates red flag laws and claims they refunded the money through ACH back to my bank 3 days later. It's now 10 days after that and my $****** is still not in my account. My bank is launching an investigation into the missing money. Beware in dealing with this company!

I cannot believe this company is still in business. My loan was sold to this 2nd rate no name company and this is the WORST thing ever! Our payments go up and down (we have a FIXED rate), they do not notify of changes, periodically they say my payments are late (they aren't), try to charge late fees, do not apply extra funds to my principal....it is a nightmare. I am leaving this trash in my rearview asap. They need to be INVESTIGATED and CLOSED DOWN!

You guys earned ZERO STARS!!!!! I have been with you guys 2014 and re-financed my house before CV19 hit but the experience was less than pleasant.... COMPLETE LACK OF COMMUNICATIONS!!!!!!! EMAILS BACK AND FORTH FOR 2 MONTHS THEN SUDDENLY SOMEONE CAME TO MY HOUSE EXPECTING ME TO SIGN PAPERWORK AND DIDNT TELL ME THE CLOSING DATE SO I NEVER HAD 2 MONTHS OF PAYMENTS BREAK! then now Oct 2021, I tried to refinance to pay off my credit cards. Carrington wanted over $9,000 in fees to refinance our home. Going to AMERICAN FUNDING to refinance. I'll only save a few dollars a month but I will be RID OF CARRINGTON
