I have been attempting to conduct a Mortgage refinance this year. I was accepted to refinance with Carrington who is my current company after they bought out my original note with **** of America. Originally they told me my credit score was too low then they contact me and state that I can refinance for a 30 year fixed rate with mortgage insurance. I have just over 20 on my current note, no mortgage insurance, and never missed a payment (EVER!) I chose to look elsewhere as I want a 15 year fixed conventional loan. Now my acc... read more

My loan was recently bought by Carrington, and every method of payment besides autopay requires a convenience fee. This wouldn't be an issue except I was unable to pay one month due to my account not being fully transitioned over to be able to make the autopay schedule. I was given a 60 day ************ due to the transition to get myself paid up and that's nice but by outsourcing their collections they place an unnecessary burden on the customer with the convenience fee. Which ranges depending on method from 5$-20$.

Carrington Mortgage is a debt collection firm. They state this in every communication to its customers. Based on their harassing calls within 1-2 days after a payment is due to the debt collection threating letters they mail out before a late fee is even assessed, it is my opinion that they only provide mortgage services so they can move to foreclosure on their clients. I purchased my home in 2018 and was approved by Carrington mortgage with a VA loan. Made all payments on time. I qualify for the veteran mortgage refinance program to do a rate and term upgrade for free. Supposed to take 30 to 45 days and they took well over that and had issue after issue to get it done. My next time up for my free refinance, I went through Nations Lending. They are the worst when it comes to customer service. Every year they harass me about my flood policy that I never needed until they bought my loan from chase. I pay for the flood policy every year and Geico will not force me to pay more than what I need to. Carrington wants me to do the middle man work and send documents to Geico and then update documents for them. They also mess up my escrow analysis every year! I have to watch my account each month and this has been the worst lending company EVER!

they refuse to acknowledge divorce decrees, customer service is clueless and a joke. I pity anyone who uses this company for anything. Paperwork is never received by their staff and they ask it be resent weekly

Left me standing without a word after a month of trying to get a mortgage. ************************* was my loan advisor and for the past 2 weeks he hasnt answered a call or an email or a text. So needless to say I am not doing business with Carrington Mortgage. Worst customer service I have ever seen.

Recently did a ** appraisal for them. Per the ** appraisal order, *************************** is listed as the *******. Per the **, the sponsor is responsible for the ***** that initiates the appraisal order. Long after the appraisal was complete and the *** (Notice of Valuation) was sent, the ***** refused to pay my appraisal fee. Their words, and this is a direct quote from their email to me, were: "Nah I aint paying this haha."
