Worst mortgage company ever! Been a Realtor for over a decade and had to use them because of my client, and they were horrible. Too many issues to mention!
We have worked with many mortgage companies since we own a number of properties. Carrington is by far the worst company we have ever worked with. We have had the same experience as all of the other negative reviews here. Working with them for insurance claim repairs is a nightmare because they keep the insurance check until all repairs are complete. Never ever talk to any of the customer service representatives without documenting on paper and recording the call. They are the worst mortgage provider I've ever had to deal with. The customer service representatives get attitudes with you and every time you call back, you get different information. I've never felt this unsettled in my life. After reading all the negative reviews with this company I wasn't surprise what happened to me. I am new customer like many other who account was sold by BOA. I mailed my monthly payment on January 4th it is January 12payment has been processed. I am now forced to cxl my check and pay over the phone which will be at a fee of $10.00. Carrington Mortgage Services purchased my mortgage from Bank of America in September of 2017. Please note that my mortgage with Bank of America was over the span of 17 years and NOT ONCE was my payment ever late. This morning I received a call from Carrington and once verifying who I was, the first words out of the representative's mouth was "this is an attempt to collect a debt". My jaw dropped. How does Carrington Mortgage service earn a At with the BBB? This is the worst company to work with. They built their business by stealing homes. We had been with Chase for 6 years, we needed to modify our loan due to high insurance premiums, we made every payment on time or early. After the 6 month probation period, without notice or warning, Chase sold our mortgage to Carrington. I'm sure it was because we modified with Chase. How can Carrington get an A+ when all I see are negative reviews? Plus I am adding another they are the most harassing company I have ever dealt with! We are never that much behind but when we do they send 8 mind you 8 large envelopes!! 4 certified and 4 regular all duplicates!! With all the money they waste doing this maybe I should harass them daily about the waste!! The BBC needs to take a closer look here for sure, or even maybe they need to be reviewed?
This companies associates make promises that they cant keep! I was in the process of refinacing my home and Jamie D**** told me that I could skip October and Novembers payment as part of my refi terms. But around October the 17th she told me the city had a lien on my property because I had a USDA loan and the terms of that loan was that I must stay in the home for 5 years without refinancing it, and could I pay her 1200 to remove the lien and go forward. My mortgage was with SLS, Inc and in August 2017 I received a letter stating that my new mortgage company was Carrington. At this time, we were in Bankruptcy and when I called them they informed that since were in Bankruptcy that they could not talk with me, cause of the bankruptcy.
