I would give ZERO stars. This company should be forced out of business. My loan was transferred after 10 years with **** and *********** and has been in shambles every since this transfer. The staff is incompetent and inefficient. You are constantly bounced around to individuals who are unable to answer questions and resolve matters. I had a delay with my loan in closing but all in all Carrington was easy to work with and closed the loan a day later than anticipated. No hidden surprises and the loan officer Glen Oates was a pleasure to work with.
I also have been having the same/similar issues as reviews below. The company bought out my loan In September 2017. In June 2018, they raised my payment by over $200 per month saying my escrow changed. My annual escrow (HO Insurance and Property Taxes) only increase a combined $500 or so for the entire year. I was making half payments every two weeks for an extra payment per year. I also made additional payments to principal throughout the year. I have no idea how this company has an A rating with the BBB. Our mortgage was transferred to Carrington from BOA and it has been an absolute nightmare. They have reported us late multiple times when we have proof of payment, my statement will say payment due is one amount but when I pull up our account online, it will say we owe four hundred dollars more than what our paper note reflects. This is the worst company, ever. B o A sold my mortgage to this bs company and now they call me a million times a week to try to sell me something or get me to refi. They CHARGE A FEE for making an online payment - THIS IS 2018, money transfers are free! I have been on the phone with them now for over an hour trying to figure out WHY they raised my mortgage with their "analysis" that they did "30 days after a mortgage is transferred" and then another analysis in NOV for state of FL and now I need more money in my escrow acco... read more
I wish I could give it negative 1 star. Worst customer service! They Paid an insurance company incorrectly $2000 and it is taking me weeks of countless phone calls and still my escrow account has not been corrected. They refuse to send me a payment history showing what payments have been made out of my escrow account. They must have paid someone at the BBB for this A+ accreditation.
Unfortunately, I still have not received any response from Carrington. I honestly cannot believe that I am still dealing with this awful, deceitful and dishonest company. My mortgage was taken over by Carrington 4-5 years ago. Since that time I have never had a problem with them. Their representatives are friendly and seem to be concerned about their clients. We refinanced our loan 2 years ago and I was impressed by the man that helped us--I felt he went out of his way to make the process as painless as possible.
