As other have complained about, the $5.00 convenience fee for paying them, which is just passing on the cost to me for their choice to use a provider, is a little frustrating. That said, I recently switched home insurance companies, so I planned to make my mortgage payment a little later in the month to give my previous insurance company time to get my money back to me (since they mailed a check). Our home mortgage has been with ********** for many, many years. We not only have never been so much as one day late we've paid double payments consistently until just last year when we bought our 2nd home (vacation home in another state). We have had automatic withdrawals for these payments also. I have been traveling since the beginning of December. I return and have quite a few calls on my phone yet NO MESSAGES from Carrington. This company is a customer service nightmare. My mortgage (in good standing) was sold to Carrington recently and I never received any information about how to send payment until well after the first payment was due. I set up auto draft and it took them almost 30 days to approve it, meaning I had to send another one-time payment (which they charge service fees for). I received notice that they didn't have my condo master insurance policy on file and would be buying high-priced insurance on my behalf if I didn't update. They s... read more

Terrible customer service. Obnoxious fee of $5 to pay online. Strange policies on escrow account balances. I could not be more annoyed that my loan was sold to them. I will be refinancing SOON.

If I could I would put NO STARS! BBB Complaint against Carrington- Working with Carrington has been a nightmare! Customer service is horrible. They say that once I do this and that things will be taken care of. Once I did those things it just got worse. I feel like they are trying to scam me out of money. POOR ETHICS AND LOW STANDARDS THEY ORDERED A REAL ESTATE APPRAISAL FROM ME, IT WAS COMPLETED IN A TIMELY MANNER, I HAVE SEND INVOICES, LEFT VOICE MESSAGES, I HAVE NOT HAD ANY COMMUNICATION REGARDING MY PAY WHICH IS WAY PAST DUE. This company is crooked as they come. They are in the business of forcing foreclosure however they can. **** ** ******* sells them homes with either: high equity or owners who have bad credit and are more likely to default. I fall into the first category. My home is almost paid off a I have been paying regularly and through automatic payments for the duration of my loan. This changed once Carrington took over. Wish I could leave no stars because this company does not deserve any. I have been trying to resolve an issue for a single mom, trying to save her home from foreclosure. I faxed in the 3rd party authorization, as I was instructed to do so. The home owner also called them and they told her I was now authorized to contact them to discuss the mortgage. **** ** ******* recently sold my home loan to Carrington. I guess they never made any money off me with my on time payments! As for Carrington Mortgage Services, so far so good. It's been only a few months. Frankly, I may like them over *****!
