They are very one sided. They are not willing to help the consumer or whatsoever. DO NOT USE THEIR services, it is awful from their site to their customer service experience, just terrible. I requested a goodwill removal for a late payment that was not even our fault, they refuse, they said they can only do that when they find that they made a mistake, which they are not willing to admit to. HORRIBLE, DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU CAN. We had no intention to, but our BOA loan was sold to them

Even with being played off due to COVID-19, Carrington sent a foreclosure threat letter for being two weeks late, which was no fault of my own. 2ndly their Corona aid is forbearance of payments however balance is due after said period. That's no help at all, it's a trap to get your assets from you. I didn't ask for this sh*t company to have my mortgage it was sold to them by Chase. ******** all around!

I am completely up to date with my mortgage payment first of all. I had a major insurance claim in December of 2018. I had to send the check to Carrington to disperse to me. When it was time to disperse 50% of the money, we needed an inspection, COVID-19 hit. Carrington in TX was under lock down, we were not I called and the lady at the time released another 25% of the money without an inspection (approved through her boss). The customer service representatives are rude, disrespectful, insensitive and unwilling to help. The management team are even worse. My Mortgage was transferred to these extortioners on December 15th 2021, 4 months ago with out notice. I was disrespected because I didn't want to modify my loan with them. Short of Auto With drawl there's no way I can make a payment with out being charged a fee EVEN MAKING THE PAYMENT ONLINE THEY CHARGE. I actually Would give this bank negative stars if i could. I also almost never comment and rate any business so here it goes. Im a Realtor in Mississippi and my buyers have been trying to get a loan from Carrington. The home buying process started in September 19 and we are still waiting on this $30,000 loan to close. My mortgage was recently sold to them. They charge a $5.00 processing fee to make an online payment. This is ridiculous. The payment is made directly from my bank account. Looking to make money in fees? Chase never charged me a processing fee for payment.

Consumers beware. Here is our situation - excellent credit (both my husband and I in the 800's), we make our mortgage payment on time every month and we pay extra to our principle every month. Our VA guaranteed loan was sold to Carrington in April 2015. I wish I could find one positive thing in our 5 years of dealing with this company, but there has never been one positive interaction with them. We have had nothing but problems and complaints. This company is a joke. Our bank sold our loan to them and I immediately checked them out and found my own bank to refinance with. So much run around for us, the title company, and our new bank. After multiple calls we finally got the info we needed to process the loan. No payment was made to carrington by us and they waited 2 weeks to take money from our escrow before mailing our escrow refund. It's been a week and still no check.
