I purchased my first car with Carmax in Charleston back in 2014. Super easy process loved them! Now I find my dream vehicle get it transferred, get approved for financing, and was willing to put a nice down payment down -CARMAX COLUMBIA-. I was back and forth there for two days for hours after providing different paperwork etc and it still wasn't enough. I would give the Henrietta NY location 0 stars if possible. If you're looking to buy a car with very low miles and nothing but problems go there! I have had to have my car serviced at a separate dealership 5 times in the few months I have had the vehicle and all are things that are situations that could have been avoided if this location had an adequate if not subpar service department. I sent a request to transfer a car from TX to NC and got an email that the car was reserved just for me and that someone would be contacting me about further information to get the transfer going. They called the next morning and proceeded to ask questions. Then they said that the car was reserved for someone else and wondered if they could help me with looking for a different car. CarMax policy is not buyer friendly. The didn't deliver my car I reserved, then put it for someone else. I decide to drive an hour to buy a car in person, just to find out my original car was still here. I had an appointment at 5 didn't get helped until 6. I took an SUV home to test, was told everything was pre-approved, so so I had to do was comeback in and sign. I am sitting here for more than an hour.

Really didn’t want to leave a star at all. This was the worst car buying experience I’ve ever had . My experience with the salesman Dennis was absolutely amazing . Dennis was very patient with helping in my perfect car search and helped me transfer the car of my dream to my location at South Blvd . As far as purchasing the car and CarMax having my car ready after I had previously already signed majority of the paperwork the day before . I have been a longtime Carmax customer. I have always believed in their company. I was due to buy a newer car. This would be my 4th car from Carmax. I liked that there was no haggling. I appreciated that their workforce seems to be diverse. I picked out a car online, and had it transferred to my nearest store. That was a painless process. The buying and financing went off smoothly. I sold my car to Carmax at this location... I told employee I have no way to get home after I sell the car, and he said either him, or someone else will give me a ride home after we get done... however, he was nowhere to be found later on, and nobody had no clue about taking me home... I talked to manager who was completely useless, and just told me he has no service to give me a ride home... so I ended up stranded there in front of the store with my phone on 1% and dying... In lieu of their “no haggle” pricing, the salesperson entered into a conversation about fees and taxes beyond the sticker price of the vehicle. This place is awesome because it is filled with amazing people. I was there today to sell my car and dealt with Hunter in the business office. I was shocked to learn that she is new because she was fantastic. I didn't have all my paperwork in order, but she quickly told me not to worry and leave everything in her hands.
