Bought a car for my daughter from them because they advertise reasonable prices and quality checked vehicles. So far it’s the worst mistake we’ve made in years. The car is a lemon and has been giving us issues from day 1. They fixed all items within their window so we didn’t return it within the 7 or 8 days they give you (another mistake on our part trusting this company) but everything that can go wrong with a vehicle has gone wrong. When we bought the car it was great and the person was nice selling it. It’s technically my sons car and he’s making the payments and they just call you and call you and call you if you were just a tad late on the payment. I don’t think it’s appropriate that they call you every 10 minutes and ask where you work. he put the payment in but it takes a few days for it to show up in their system.

This company uses classic “bait and Switch techniques.” Reserved a car to the Lynchburg location. Upon arrival was told the reservation was “accidentally” canceled. The original price reserved was also significantly increased. Was sent to the next state over for a similar car with 120,000 more miles on it. Customer service is abysmal. CarMax employees have lied over and over to me. This is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Buyer beware!

I purchased a **** ***** *****, CarMax had the check in hand and sold the car while I was in the hospital. Then, tried to charge me more for the same vehicle and a shipping fee. They did not apologize or try to rectify their own mistake. Buyer beware!!

I bought a car with CarMax and had a five year loan on it in 2014. I moved several times for the duration of the loan but I kept my address updated on the CarMax Website. Once the car had been paid off, they sent my title to a previous out of date address (how they still had it on file, I have no idea as I had long deleted this address out of the portal I was able to access). Extremely terrible service! Carmax does not care about it's customers nor the quality of cars they sell. When you contact Carmax Headquarters they are very rude and do not respond to emails or follow up with you. This is by far the worst car buying experience that I've ever had. I will never purchase another vehicle from Carmax and strongly encourage you to read all of the complaints on this website. DO NOT purchase from Carmax! They deserve 0 stars and I'm looking forward to proceeding with a class action lawsu

I purchased my brand new **** **** ******from the Kenosha, WI Location back in October and I was told by my car salesman that the proof I had for graduation wasn't enough for the College Grad rebate through Toyota because it didn't have the exact date that I would be graduating, which doesn't make sense either because nothing is set in stone because of Covid. ***I generally do not post negative reviews because all businesses have their bad days and I try to give second chances. In this situation, however, the company is not making a reasonable effort to fix the issue.*** . My family has had great experiences with this company and they offer great warranties.
