STAY AWAY from CarMax! Classic bait and switch! My nephew took his 92 year old grandmothers car in for an estimate and received a valuation of $17,000. Which was supposed to be good to October 25, 2022. We took the car in for that valuation on the 25th of October and they then said after a week that they would only give her $14,500; never honoring the original appraisal. They sold me a 2020 Dodge ram pickup truck they are some professional scam artists the truck had more miles on the meter than it had on the paper work they took advantage of me logging stuff in the computer saying I'm required to pay more money so that they could get the paperwork together on selling me the truck I know it may sound crazy but it happened as of this point nothing has happened I would say have been resolved still fighting.
I purchased a vehicle from CarMax from the ********, ** location on Sept 16th 2022 and returned it on Sept 25th 2022 due to numerous issues that the car had. Car had loose fender, dents inside the door frame, brakes were bad and needed replacement, loud ticking sound, and a bent rim. I had the absolute worst experience with car max. They could truly careless about customer experience, quality of sale, or commitments. From the physical location to customer relations corporate line. I've never experienced such callous and disregard when attempting to give an establishment money. It's more like CarMax sells used lemons and consumers end up stuck in car loans paying for vehicles that have mechanical issues and vehicle keeps breaking down. The price I am paying for this Jetta is too high for the high millege or value of this vehicle. Because they know that I know their is a used lemon law that a car is supposed to be back within a year of the vehicle being defective and they are trying to ride it out so they won't have to replace it. Beware! Carmax sold me junk! Bought 2014 Sonata in Dec. 2020, after **** miles got oil change engine failed. Made car payments for 5 months while waiting for new engine! ******* stepped up and replaced engine. While replacing they find Catalytic converter failed due to extreme rust! Refused to replace it! Terrible business ethics.( Meets our company standard) Once they have your cash they refuse to compromise. I had my vehicle in for service 7+ times in the 90 day warranty period and they would not buy back the vehicle, and could not provide me with a vehicle that is more reliable.
Very unprofessional workers who would rather physically fight customers than tend to the jobs that serve them
