Have bought several autos from Carmax. We pay the high prices because the level of assurance we get. Purchased a **** Focus in July of 21. Along with an Extendo Fit it plan in case it broke down. Major mechanical items were allegedly covered. A short time later the engine light came on, the transmission disengaged and the car became inoperable. Probably will never ever do business at carmax again. Sad cause the sale was so easy. A week after buying my car the brakes were making nose. They replaced our said they replaced them because it was within the 30 days of purchase and they had to. Moving on, 6 months later my car started jerking I was ******. CARMAX has unclean hands and deceptive practices. First let me start by saying DOWNPAYMENTS are illegal and should not be comingled with financing. 15 USC **** (A) There is no reason why you had to put cash down on a credit financed transaction. In fact, the loan was fully paid off by the consumer's signature and SSN. The lender that they assigned to your loan act as if the fully paid the loan (That was a lie) You're the lender not them, you lend them your extended credit and they create a fake loan that they never had funds... read more

My wife and I decided to sell our used car and got a online offer which we knew was not accurate until a inspection was done. We went in and had a inspectiin done. They told us that it was worth less than what they offered due to mechanicle issues. When we went in, our vehicle had no problems, no check engine light, abs, powerstearing fault on dashboard but after they did there "inspection" i was throwing fault codes left and right. I've bought several cars from CarMax and send all my family and friends there. Love the no haggle, and that they fix issues if they come up for several months for free even when I don't buy their warranty. They always show me the history report so I know if the car has been in an accident or not.I think the only reason their score is so low on here is because people usually only come here when they have issues and CarMax is huge and does a ton of business.

I bought a car and warranty at this dealership in April of 2022. I discovered a leaky rear window the first weekend I had it home. I called the service center over a hundred times, no exaggeration. I left voice messages, but 9/10 times the line just rang nonstop. No one ever called me back. The one time I got through to a human she referred me to another shop for the repair. Carmax selling *** and ******* recall deault failing engines. The compis aware of the engines and there's no compensation for the inconvenience of the vehicles. I'm told that I'm still accountable of the vehicle.

I found my dream car! Carmax then proceeded to ruin the entire experience, having put a car for sale that did not have the proper paperwork. Then, they kept changing the dates for delivery. Mind you, the ONLY info I got from them was when I Called, was transferred to multiple people, and not given any of the information anyone else buying a car would want. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!! Very unprofessional staff. Very rude and this was my first time here. They play around and talk all day instead of doing what they are supposed to do which is to help customers. After reading all the reviews and seeing a lot of the same thing smd worse and actually receiving my paystub that I needed for the car I was planning to get.
