CARMAX IN ****** ** ARE THE WORSE I WENT TO BUY A CAR AND THEY DIDN'T LET ME SEE THE VEHICLE OR TEST DRIVE. I DETAIL CARS ON THE SIDE THEY USED TOUCH UP PENS ON THE PAINT AND IT HAD RUNS IN IT THERE SCRATCHES AND DENTS IN THE PAINT IF I WOULD HAVE GOT TO DO A WALK AROUND I WOULDN'T HAVE BOUT THIS CAR. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE.

The process of buying a car didn't work for me. I had a car shipped and they said they would contact me buy the 5th of April, on the 3rd of April my wife contacted them asking about the car. They said they tried to contact me 3 times (never got a text) and then got 3 different stories, bottom line car was gone. ********* ******** store.
Carmax accounting cannot process a payment ON A TIMELY BASIS when one of their cars is traded. We bought a Lexus on March 11 and the payoff was made to Carmax by ******************. The payment was overnighted and signed for by Carmax in ******** **. *********************** had to supply the tracking and proof of signature to them! They did not process the payment, but sent ** emails telling us we were delinquent. Their CSR said the accounting department was "backed up." If I could leave a zero rating, I would. I recently dealt with Carmax on behalf of one of my clients to get her account back in a good standing. With my client being present on the phone, we were welcomed with very unprofessional representatives, one being a "supervisor". I was told I was asking too many technical questions about her documentation. The representative then followed it up with , " I am asking too many questions". Absolutely the worst. Looking at the reviews, it appears many, many people have had my experience. Too bad they cannot get a zero. Our story: my father died and my mother is a fragile 91+. I have ***** of ******** for my mom and a Court Order allowing me to act for her. CarMax, in theory, copied those documents along with my id. After being told no problem, we can do this deal, they rejected an agreed sale because my mother was not present to sign. On April 2021 i purchased my car from CarMax and they do the financing, everything was perfectly ok till November 2022 when I sent a check to pay off my car loan, i sent extra just to make sure everything would be covered, late November 2022 i got my car title and a letter saying "congratulations for paying off your loan" i called to see if the check cover all the cost and just make sure everything was ok, they told a check for $970 was sent it to me since my payment was bigger that what I actually owed. Truly so sad to say I no longer trust CarMax to sell me a safe, reliable car. In the six months I owned a VW Beetle, the engine required around $6k of repairs, all of which were repaired through MaxCare-recommended auto shops. When I flagged my concerns over repeated issues on the same components, I was told my only option was to sell the car back through standard appraisal. OK, so how does a company with a consumer BBB rating of **** / 5 get an "A+" rating? I'm confused... the BBB has endless complaints on file and in their own rating system of up to 5 Stars, it shows CarMax has a rating of barely over 1 Star (**** stars), which makes them atrocious and just this side of ***********. What are they thinking? I was shown and provided a CarFax report showing a clean history, only to find a few months later the vehicle had been in a wreck. Stunningly bad behavior for a national firm...
