Even though it’s several miles from the Conference Center, we had HOT water and great breakfast! The Capitol Conference & Hotel was the talk of the week with ice cold showers. This place was close to nicer shops & easy highway access.
The room was so “toasty” a the bellhop commented. I did let her know that there was NO cool air and we burned up all Night! plus, there was NO hot water all day! Then, when I went to check out, there were no chairs for me to sit in (convention going on) while waiting to be picked up! I had to sit on the luggage rack in the hallway! Gel to the no we will not stay ther again!

The hotel has a great location. Customer convenience is not their strong suit. This trip I was denied early check in. (Check in is 3, I needed 2) Asked if I could get a glass of wine. No, the bar was closed until 4. No, on the restaurant , it was closed too. A nice woman from the restaurant got me a glass of water. At 2:45 I noticed there was a line and they were checking in people. I stood in line and got a room. This is not the first time. I'm switching hotels.

Sandi, thank you for your comments. Yes our check in time is 3pm and with having a full house the night before we are not able to honor early check ins. Our Restaurant is open at 6:30am until 2pm for breakfast and lunch. Our Lounge Service opens at 4pm to 1am serving dinner.

Acceptable. However WiFi leaves a lot to desired. Lighting in banquet rooms and convention rooms pathetic. As high as 25% of lights bulbs were inoperative. Buying light bulbs and replacing them is highly advised. Food at banquet on Sunday was excellent, however bread, one piece per plate the size of a cruton was laughable. Beds, need to be replaced, had a steel rod sticking out the side of ours. In lieu of replacing, they used wire to retain the steel rod. I have always disliked the Capitol Plaza Hotel. Unfortunately the check-in here today just served to reinforce my dislike of the hotel. The checking staff were very unhelpful and rude. If it weren't for the fact that I have commitments here, I would not have even stayed what I am staying, but rest assured, I will NEVER stay here again.
