Dealing with Chas Roberts has been infuriating. Beware: on a new build, there is no standard warranty on the installation of your HVAC from Chas Roberts, despite what their website implies. The manufacturer of the unit will probably have a warranty on the physical parts, but this company cuts corners and will more than likely screw up the install of your unit as mentioned in other reviews. When (not if) your ac unit has problems within the first year, the 1 year home builder warranty will pay them to "fix" the issue. This is... read more

his company installed on my new build. Two systems that have not worked since day one of closing. Warranty attempts to send them out. They over book their techs. They did not show up on time. Had a morning appt, was pushed back twice. Tech called to say he would not be there til 10pm. I was rescheduled with Tracy in the call center for an appt the next day. We purchased a brand new home in Oct 2020 and Chas Roberts is the company that had installed our AC units. One night we turned on the AC and it was blowing hot air into all the rooms including our nursery. I called Chas Roberts and they scheduled someone to come out the following day. The timeframe they only had available was 7pm-12am and of course they showed up at 12:30am. When the techs got to our home we had told them the issue of hot air blowing instead of AC. *******, Your warranty is through your builder. Your home was designed with specific equipment, to include thermostats. You have changed out the thermostats from the original design. Chas Roberts does not warranty thermostats that were not installed by us, Additionally, the warranty you receive through your builder covers the work, and equipment installed by Chas Roberts; since thermostats are not a part of the original install, there is no warranty on getting them to function and would have a cost associated with it. I have a new construction home, the AC unit was installed by Chas Roberts. I have all the literature with their name on all the content provided by the home builder regarding the AC and Warranty. Chas Roberts said their warranty only covers 2yr labor, 5 yrs parts, even though the manufacture warranty is for 10 years. They provided an absurd cost and said i need to buy a new Condenser. *****, your two year labor warranty is provided by your builder. Any additional labor warranty would have been at a cost. Your equipment comes standard with a five year parts coverage only warranty. To extend this to 10 years, it is the homeowner's responsibility to register the equipment. Where do I start with this company. I bought my home in 2004 and Chas Roberts put in my AC unit. I’ve had nothing but problems with this unit. The first year and half my compressor went out. 2011 when I was 9 months pregnant in August AC went out. Ended up being something that cost less then $200 thank goodness. First was told it was my compressor again. Replaced fan on it. And here comes August 2019. Just bought a new house (well, the house was built in 1999). It needed some A/C electrical connection work done. Brick came out on time. He corrected the A/C electrical box in the attic (It's about 110 degrees here now) but it was much more than that. The electrical housing was metal and didn't have a cover on it. Brick went to his van and made a metal cover for it! Everything today is plastic, but that wasn't good enough for Brick since the housing is metal. I purchased my home back on April 30th 2018. I have a brand new home that was built and I am the first and only owner for my home. Chas Roberts installed my ac unit and in the past 2 years they've been out to fix my ac 5 times for the same problem. My ac has cooling problems and it seems like they keep putting a Band-Aid on it instead of fixing the problem. I called this morning to request an air-conditioning maintenance appointment and within an hour a technician was at the house. Thomas did a very thorough job and explained exactly what he was doing every step of the way. He was thoughtful and considerate and wore a mask the entire time. I was so impressed that we signed up for maintenance agreement which will cover 2 visits per year. I have called the company directly and I spoke with Liz who was happy to get positive feedback.
