I HAVE A CHECKING , SAVING, CREDIT CARD AND CD ACCOUNT WITH BBVA COMPASS. MY CHECKING ACCOUNT HAD OVER $12000. IN IT AND I ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A PURCHASE FOR $4030. IT WAS DECLINED. Absolutely abysmal customer service. As an auto dealer, calling the dealership hotline to obtain a customer's payoff information should be a simple or even an automated process. After two separate phone calls and 30 minutes of hold time to only be told that they cannot provide me with that info at this time, that I would have to wait 24-48 hours and receive a 10-day payoff via fax or email is beyond unacceptable. Absolutely the WORST bank ever!!! Garbage! I can't believe they are even operating. Online banking is terrible and customer service isn't any better.

Compass Bank sends out "Pre-Selected/Pre-Approved" Mail Advertisements on THEIR WONDERFUL selection of Visa Cards......puts you thru a "Drill" of Customer ServiceOutsourced Agents to obtain all your personal information (which now can be used for identity theft) and after giving you a "Reservation Number"......they turn you down with NO EXPLANATION....when we could obtain any Visa Card we choose....NEVER CHOOSE THEM...ESPECIALLY THE CLEAR POINTS REWARD CARD OFFERING......it is a scam!
It's my pleasure to provide this review to BBVA customer service Agent Edwin M****** located at Guatemala, after speaking to a rep before him for a while, which did not solve my problem decided to call back customer service and fortunately Mr. M****** took the call, within five minutes he resolved the issue quite efficiently and professionally,On a personal level his communication skills and consistency exceeded this call. Do not waste your time (as in hours and hours) with this bank. I have many credit cards and great credit...and have never seen anything like this. First, they want to charge you to pay your bill ($10.00). They say you can pay online for free, and after a couple hours of set up, a message says "make payment" option is unavailable and you must CALL IN. I find out "online" payments can not be made after 11:00PM CT (what???). It wasn't after 11 when I started all this, BTW. All these hours later I am back at the start and they o... read more
Our bank card was stolen. We reported fraud within 24 hours of learning about it. Bank denied us and wouldn't cover the $2,500 in charges. They wouldn't approve it as "fraud". We were victimized twice: first by the street criminal and then a second time by this white collar criminal. And we had used them for years for our family run business. We are moving to a new bank.
I attempted to withdraw $60.00 from my account on 12-23-17 @ 1668 Montclair Road; Birmingham, AL 35210. The machine printed a receipt; however, I never received one dime which caused me to promptly go inside an explain my situation to the customer service representative. I was kind and polite and one of the tellers chimed in" the ATM machine not again". It was apparent they had been placed on notice with regards to the malfunction of the machine. *** DO NOT BANK WITH BBVA COMPASS *** BBVA COMPASS stole my check that I deposited for my husband (who is not an account holder). A few days after I deposited a check through an ATM at 6900 Virginia Pkwy, McKinney, TX 75071, I read negative $$$ on my account. My husband and I drove to the bank (where I deposited the check) only to be told that an email confirmation must be returned by a department before retrieving the check.
