What a nightmare. I opened an online account. I have been trying to transfer money out for over a week. There are transaction limits and monthly limits. After numerous phone calls, I told to fax my license, account information , address and request to a fax number. For two days, no one can locate my fax request nor a phone number to the branch it was supposed to have gone to. They repeatedly tell me "just come to the bank." This bank stole equity from my house in a refinance. Banker Bradley B**** told me to ignore disclosure statement fees and closing fees. The bank promised lender credits for closing costs, but simply wrapped up closing costs in my loan. My loan increased from $666K to $675K. I filed a complaint with the customer service department and they told me all the forms were correct. I was in the process of purchasing a commercial real estate loan and they increased my debt load so I look worse on paper. I feel these banking practices... read more

My name is ************* and I have a complaint on the customer service I received at my local BBVA Compass Bank in Sumiton, AL. On November 5th, 2019, I went to the banks drive-thru atm to deposit some cash. The atm wasn't working correctly and retained $130 dollars of the cash I put in, so I backed up and pulled to the tellers window where I was told that they didn't service that atm and that I'd have to come inside to file a dispute. I have a transaction dated Nov 1 per online banking but the bank claims it tried to clear on 10/31 then why does it not reflect that? This predatory and gas happened to me 3 times!!! Keep in mind if the 31st debit is valid my pay check was deposited the night of the ,31st so I still should not have a fee!!! They are in another country n jus read a script bbva they don't care. I have been with BBVA Compass for over 10 years. The first few years were just fine and I was satisfied with the service. However, in the past 5 years my experience has been that this is a Bank not motivated to help their customers and are operating as if it was 100 years ago. Most recently, I sold my home in Texas and moved to Virginia. I went to wire the money from my account for my down payment and was told it was impossible to wire over $5,000 unless you physically came to a branch. Unfortunately, I experienced BBVA Compass Bank predatory lending and banking scam. After my loan matured, in which the bank's employee lead me to believe this was an open line of credit, I had to reapply for the line of credit or pay the full amount of the loan. BBVA Compass Bank checked my credit (3) hard inquiries, all within 30 days of each inquiry, to renew my line of credit loan. I can't even give them a half star, because their real-time banking is so off base that it's ridiculous. Their lackadasical approach to banking, personal or otherwise, is non-committal and unprofessional. I was never informed of a maintenance fee associated with this account. I opened the account online but then I had to be assisted with the the process of opening an account and is now considered an assisted opening not online. This bank sucks tremendously, and all I can say is.....Arivaderce!!!!!!!!

By far the worst bank in all of America. At start of year, they went to "real time banking". We started seeing BBVA fees for $0.01 and $2.00 on our account and then we started receiving "Non Sufficient Fund" charges totaling $38 on over 50+ transactions when we had $20K+ balances in our account. Also during the course of this, we had a stop payment on our account and they froze the account with a OFAC (Office of Foreign Asset Control) hold. So far the worst banking experience i ever had. Customer service is an absolute joke. Very rude unprofessional and not willing to help resolve banking problems. Never wate your time with them unless you don't mind trouble nonstop.
