One of the worst customer service ever. They cannot get anything right. I refinanced my car loan from BBVA to another bank back in Dec 2019 and its been 6 months, still they have'nt transferred the title to the new bank. Since BBVA does not know how to do their damn job and are reluctant to come out of their laziness, my new bank is telling me that I have to pay 18% interest on the loan. I opened an account with BBVA not long before the unfortunate occurrence of Covid-19 spreading through the US and set up direct deposit with them. Soon after branches started to close earlier and things just started to move to everything being done online. So keeping with a Governor's orders I decided to stay home if I could help it. Worst bank I have ever had the misfortune to due business with. Have a vehicle loan through them and several times I have tried to change the payment due date to the 1st of the month instead of the 26th, but their "customer service" department is never available it seems. I leave messages with my information and they say they will call you back but no one ever does.
As a customer of over 30 years I would advise NOT doing business with these people. They are fraudulent in their banking practices and breach their own contracts. If you think their customer service is going to help you, you might try learning different languages because that's what you will be in for as you are transferred to another country. This meaning that when we receive the payment, the interest is paid to date of receipt first and the rest, if any, is applied to principal. BBVA is the WORST bank I've ever dealt with. Opened account when it promised $100 bonus if funds left in through Nov. When bonus didn't show, I'm told it would AFTER my account is "reviewed" on Jan. 29. In Feb I again ask. Finally get it after my efforts. Were they just going to scam me? Then I try to close account. No go. Must "empty" it first. (As a customer I am not allowed to close my own account???) But there's a $3 fee for every transfer out, and amount is limited. Horrible bank will be transferring all my funds out of this joke of a bank..they take all your money at once but they wont let you have it all at once. They have restrictions on how much of "your" money that you can access on a particular day or month..yeah it could take months to get all your money back from these people..its almost like it's their money and you can only get what they want you to have.. what kind of legitimate bank does that? If you are looking for a competent, helpful and knowledgeable bank in which to entrust your hard-earned money, run....don't walk....to any other bank than BBVA. My mother made the major mistake of banking with them for years. So yeahhhh...I got a letter in the mail today letting me know that my account has been closed by the fraud department. No email, phone calls or voicemails, mobile messages, or account alerts of any kind prior to receipt of this snail mail letter. I have had the account approximately a month and deposited a total of approximately $2300, $2100 of which I have spent (primarily paying off my credit card debt).
