NEVER use online banking for depositing checks. They place a hold on funds and it takes almost a week to see those released. Always just go in person to the bank to deposit. No convenience.
I followed a link from bankrate.com advertising a 2.70% 12 month CD offered by BBVA. BBVA's (false) 2.70% rate is still being advertised online today I opened the account but noticed the APY on my account (opened thorough the 2.70% link was in fact only 1.89% as stated on my online account access. I called customer service (their recording said all conversations are recorded) and asked why the disparity in the rate? between advertised and the actual rate. They are awful. I made a double payment in December 2018. I asked them to put the 2nd payment towards January bill. They said thry did. Then in May 2019, they said I am overdue by 332 + 16.95 Ã? 4 months. All over the double payment issue back in December. Yet, on my bbva account they documented a reversal payment in Dec 18 for 332. That is a lie. The issue continues unresolved. I hate this bank!
My bf and I pay our mortgage to BBVA. I am dyslexic and wrote a few numbers in reverse for our account number on our money orders. BBVA cashed the money orders but because of my mistake, for months our payments were counted as missed payments. They charged us late fees and by the time we got help from them to acknowledge the issue, they charged us a big sum of fees for it. This is THE WORST banking experience I have ever had. Avoid at all cost! I had a car financed with them for 3years, never late, never missed a payment, and often paid ahead. The car was totaled at the beginning of March. It took BBVA almost 2months to mail the insurance group a letter of guarantee so that the payoff check could be sent. They held the check for 14 business days before paying my car off. Horrible Experience. Company doesn't know what Customer Service is. Spent hours on the phone and on hold, apologized to every time but they don't work in the digital world and cannot do any business in a timely manner. Stay away from this company!
My wife and I are starting a small business and we decided to use BBVA Compass. At first everything was great, but then we started to notice nsf fees for reasons that we couldn't control. The last one was because we rented a hotel room to minimize driving to and from the job. The hotel computer was down and when it came around it hit our BBVA account for 310 instead of 40. Worst ever commercial banking experience. No one in this bank is accountable for anything. Latest example; payments to your credit card remain "pending" for days despite they were withdrawn from your account. Who is taking benefit out of all this money from thousand of customers flowing around for days? ,,,,, seems a very border line practice that probably leads to overdraft situations to customers, so generating issues with your credit scores. Cannot wait to cancel all my accounts at BBVA Compass after Memorial Day.
I have been attempting for over 1-month to determine what Compass Bank did with $25,000 of my money that I posted for investment. The bank "customer service" people can't or won't help, the branch bank does not answer the telephone, there are no telephone numbers posted where you can actually talk to a person, I have written a letter and asked for someone to call me-nothing!
