I first took my dog to Bay Cities about 8-9 years ago. I recently had the unfortunate experience of witnessing my dog "Roscoe" (American Bulldog)suffer heart failure. I rushed him to Bay Cities, without an appointment, and Dr. Dhawan began administering life saving care as soon as she arrived. After a lot of work, x-rays, abdominal cavity draining and intravenous medication etc.. Roscoe was released back to me (the same day) for observance at home. I have two chihuahuas (Brain and Honey) and they both recently became ill. Honey was throwing up every two days and did not want to eat. I took her to Bay Cities and they did a contrast uppper GI study and was diagnosed with pyloric obstruction. She was treated with medication and a specific diet and she has stopped throwing up and seems to have gotten better. She is back to herself again. This place is GREAT! And affordable! My dog was injured on a Saturday night and I had to take her to an emergency vet near by only to get charged through the nose and her not being treated but rather just put on pain meds due to her old age and waited 3 hrs for a 10 min or less visit with the actual vet. I made a follow appt here on a Monday after the injury (best decision) and the vet throughly assessed her and fixed her knee with manipulation and she was walking on it the same day all for a fraction of the price of the oth... read more
In my opinion you not a single business is perfect nor is every customer going to be happy let alone satisfied, but despite what may be written in the previous review Dr. Dhawan and Bobby are medically some of the finest practitioners that I have ever meet in the Veterinary field. I have worked with, learned from, and benefited from my time spent with theml. Excellent diagnostician, good prices, punctual service, hours and they do not over medicate or do unnecessary lab. work. The doctors and Bobby have an excellent rapport with all of my animals every time I take them in.
We came to this business because of a coupon. And I must say we are quite pleased that we took the chance. We had been taking our big huge dog dash to a vet located in hayward off of jackson and our dog did not seem to be getting any better. Our dog suffered from constant ear infections and skin irritations. Dr. Dhawan did a blood test and determined that our dog had a thyroid problem. We have been coming to Bay Cities since the 80's and have seen many owners come and go here. Dr. Dhawan has been the best vet we have delt with. She is very kind and caring. She always answers all our questions very clearly. The receptionist Christina, is the best one they have ever had there. She is very nice and helpful.
After having such a positive experience with our cat (twice!) we became fans of Dr Dhawan and Vet Tech Bobby because of their expertise, compassion and no-nonsense, low-cost service.
