Banfield misdiagnosed my dog told me he was in perfect health 1 month ago and he died he was diabetic and the did not do his checks. The killed my son.

My cat went in for a routine eye exam like she has in the past. It was a drop off only option which I was anxious about but wanted to make sure she was looked at. When she was picked up over 8 hours later she couldn't stand, was cold and having difficulties breathing. I advise caution when considering Banfield's Optimum Wellness Plan. This plan runs for 12 months and is non-cancelable. We adopted a dog from the animal shelter in February and signed up for Banfield's plan. We were unable to overcome behavioral problems undisclosed at the time of adoption and had to return him to the shelter in early August. Prices are extremely inflated and they recommend services strictly with the intent on getting pet owners to spend more money. They also push their wellness plans that, if you have a relatively healthy dog, will cost you more money than needed.

We have been taking our dogs to Banfield in South-Central New Jersey for many years now, and with the exception of questioning if our dogs need and are getting sick from the yearly Bordetella and Leptosporosis vaccines every year, and some other services that were over-priced, we have alway had a good experience. However, all those years of good were changed recently after we brought our dogs in for their annual dental treatments. My husband and I contracted COVID back in February 2021. We were unable to pay our monthly Monthly wellness plan for our puppy. When I received the collection notice in June 2021. I called Banfield front desk at the Smyrna location to resolve and they directed to me their 866 number. I called and chose the option for a call back. I never received the call back and ended paying cash for the Bordetella shot my puppy needed. !DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS TO THIS OFFICE! I had the worse experience with the staff and management at this location. I've been a Banfield customer for almost a decade, have always paid both my annual wellness membership and services rendered in full and on time and have never had staff treat me in such an inappropriate manner. I took my 15 year old cat, who was not eating for days. They did an IV kept her all day making me miss work as I kept calling to see what was going on. I paid 585.00 and they left an IV in her arm and told me to come back in the morning.
