I would not recommend this pet hospital to anyone. Their negligence and malpractice has resulted in my pet losing his eye sight. Long story.. my dog was diagnosed with diabetes in March 2021. We started him on insulin immediately prescribed by the vet. Every two weeks he would go back to Banfield for glucose curves. His glucose should be in the 200s but each curve test he would never drop below 500. Banfield couldn’t figure out why so they referred us to an internal medicine dr. Internal medicine dr reviewed all records and ... read more

I had a very poor experience with the Banfield Hospital in Rockwall Texas. I was scheduled to bring my sick dog in for a follow up on Tuesday (6/22/2021) but brought him in early because his health was failing. I drove over to the Banfield hospital in Rockwall and waited in the parking lot for 20 minutes for the doors to open. After seeing an employee go in and leave the door open around 6:50, I entered the building with my sick dog. I physically carried my 60lbs dog into the hospital where I encountered the office manager f... read more

Disappointed with Banfield. As a long time member I called several Banfield Hospital Centers and all five were unable to accommodate my pet for an emergency visit on June 18th or at least the next day or so. I call again today June 19th and had the same response from Banfields in Silver Spring, Laurel, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Kensington, MD, and the phone for the Olney Banfield just rang and rang with no response. The one we frequent more (Calverton) did not refer me to an urgent care clinic or hospital. They all seem to sa... read more

Optimum Wellness Plan is a scam. Benefits of OWP is ONLY applicable if your animal survives the entire year. If they pass, they act like your pet was never on the OWP and you owe the full amount for services that have already been rendered. This has been confirmed by ******** (*********??) when I called to cancel because my dog passed away early this morning.

Our dog passed away and cancelled our plan. We had to pay for the rest of the year to be able to cancel the plan after paying to put her down. This is absolute rip off, we will dispute the charge.

The pet passed away 2 months and 6 days ago; so far they've billed my credit card three (3) times and plan on continuing to charge me at least for two (2) more months. How is this not theft?! The day I die, my family will not be charged premiums for either my life insurance or health insurance because ... it would make no sense. So, why do it for a pet? Add to this that the pet insurance plan is hardly worth the money! Save yourselves the hassle and avoid it wasting money

I'm so fed up with this business. I have no problem with the physical services it's self but with the financial side is ridiculous. I'd gotten my very first pet (Shih Tzu) for the first time as an adult in 2019. I purchased the pet plan for my puppy same day I took him in for his shots and physical check up. In 2020 I got laid off because of the Covid 19 pandemic. I still tried as best I could to make my payments while there were some months I couldn't make my payments I called to see if they could work with me or cancel the... read more

Cannot get an appointment in the state I live in. Have paid for 2 1/2 years and cannot get an appointment for preventative care. Recently needed care for an eye infection, wait time was greater than 3 weeks, had to see emergency vet who immediately put dog on antibiotics to save her vision. Website to make appointments is a enormous waste of time and did not work, ultimately I've ended up calling clinic after clinic, further and further from my home and I still do not have an appointment. Am not actually researching clinics ... read more

I will keep trying with them for a week, if no response I am cancelling my subscription to their Pet insurance and putting that same amount of money into a savings account monthly for pet care. Then I can choose a veterinary service that is interesting in serving. It has not worked for me to pre-pay, it apparently de-incentivizes this retailer.

I signed a year long contract with Banfield for vaccines, vet visits and monthly preventative medicine (heart worm, etc.) The last few months of the contract, Banfield wanted to charge me for the monthly meds. I contractually agreed to 12 months worth of medication, billed each month, not additional costs for the same meds. They said its because my dog has grown large. They are the experts and knew all along he is a **********. Of course he would grow big, as that breed does. It was their mistake and Im still paying monthly ... read more
