I have been trying to cancel my Wellness Plan now for nearly a week. They never call back as they say they will, nor do they answer emails. Today I have been on hold for 43min so far waiting for them to answer the phone. We'll see if they ever do. What a racket!! I guess I'll have to go get a new debit card in order to be sure they can no longer take money from my account based on the other comments. Seems as if asking them to cancel is not enough. They are trying to bill me for services that I never received even after my dog’s death. Not only unscrupulous but incredibly insensitive in view of the nature of my dog’s death. If I get another pet I will stay clear of Banfield and even PETSMART who does business with them. Awful!!

My 7 mth. old puppy was put on Doxycycline on 7/19/19, she ended up having an allergic reaction on 7/22/19 and her whole body swelled up and she started vomiting. I called Banfield to get her in and they told me they were full that I needed to go to an ER with her. I told them you prescribed this medicine and you should be the one looking her over, that's what I pay you for. Absolutely terrible customer service. Me and my cat's foster mom have both called 5 times to do a basic records transfer from Banfield to our cat's new vet. They have said they'll fax them twice now, and nothing. When I called the 5th time, I was left a very snarky voicemail saying I didn't specify 'what records' or which vet we wanted. Except... we did. Four times. We've both been polite and patient, but a simple routine records transfer is now in its third week, and my cat can't be registered until we have the paperwork.

I have only had two direct interactions with Banfield, neither particularly positive, but I have never brought my pet to them because I have heard so many horror stories of malpractice resulting in illness, injury, and even death, from friends' and family's personal experiences.

The biggest rip off of the day. I had to get rid of my puppy but they are telling me that I have until next march to keep paying for the pet insurance. I had to return the puppy to the breeder on 7/8/2019 and they say I have to keep paying until next march of 2020. That is just wrong and something should be done about the rip off of people.

If we didn't pay $500 dollars in full for our puppy for a wellness plan we would NEVER come back! We had an appointment for 5:00pm on a Friday we have been looking forward to this last appointment because it's the last set of shots that our puppy needed in order to go out in public and take her out for walks and etc. Due to parvo concerns. We were 5 minutes late! We get up to the desk to check in and we are told that our doctor left for the day!!!??? We had to reschedule due to a doctor leaving work way to soon!! Made an appointment for over a month in advance. On the day of appointment after checking our pet in, a staff member said there’s nothing that needs to be done for today’s visit. We even collected our pet’s stool sample as per instructed by a staff and it’s now useless and such a waste of time. The facility even sent a reminder for today’s visit and they don’t need to examine her after all. There was a huge miscommunication between the staff and clients. This is the second time that has happened.

From the appointment making process online, the first phone call to the scheduling staff in Palm Springs, to the annual Wellness Plans offered, my experience with Banfield Animal Hospital has been a solid 5 star experience. I adopted a senior dog, therefore it is a relief to know that preventative testing is available at an affordable, discounted price.
