I have the Banfield wellness plan for my three dogs and cant wait to get out. Please consider before signing up. I am a medical professional and am appalled at the lack of care. Here is an abbreviated list of my issues: 1. Dog limping and could not get appt so I dropped him off and dx was a likely torn ligament. I was lied to about the coverage and options included in the Puppy Wellness plan as well as the option to make changes if needed. Either the representatives at this store are completely unethical or just untrained. What is worse is that the parent company refuses to honor what we were told or release me from the contract early. You have lost all of my business for the life of any of my pets as has Pet Smart!

So I am on the pet wellness plan at Banfield in Bossier City, La. And my puppy got sick today (on a Saturday) at around 4:30 pm. Was sick enough where I called the hospital who I pay to take care of him and make sure he is okay. Well they tell me that they are closing in about an hour and they probably won't be able to see him. I would understand if I called at 10 o'clock at night or on a Sunday when they are closed but no that's what they tell me during business hours. On October 9 , 2017 we brought our dog *** to Banfield Hospital inside of Petsmart at the Northboro, MA location. *** had an open wound on his front right paw that would not heal, was constantly getting infected and we were very concerned. *** was checked in and we were told they would call us when he was ready. I set up a wellness plan and EVERYTIME I use it there is ALWAYS an additional charge for more services that are not covered. The main reason I signed up for the service is because it incuded teeth cleaning (or so I thought). I set up an appointment to have his teeth cleaned and when I got to the doctor he said oh no you need a MRI on the dogs heart before we clean his teeth. Horrible place for pets !! I’m going too sum this up ... my wife and I had signed up for Banfield specifically for the dental cleaning unfortunately our personal vet would have cost us too much at the time ... we had taken our cat for his first visit with Banfield for a routine check up , well our cat that was perfectly fine left there with a rectal Tare that caused an infection that almost killed him ...between our personal vets and an emergency hospital after multiple surgeries and 11k later our cat that has brought us so ... read more

Octotober 27,2017 I took my dog to Banfield because he had a discharge coming from washis right eye, we showed them medication that was prescribed in the past. We were told it was the wrong medication. When I arrived to pick him up I inquired about the wrong medication and the doctor that treated my dog said the medicine was not listed in his records and the good thing about that was the difference in price. Pet plan- DO NOT DO IT!!!!! First NOTHING IS COVERED and If you try to cancel (because your trying to pay for a wheelchair) they say you owe THEM for one wellness visit $400!!!!!!! They have a great con going! I will never even go to pets mart again!
