We signed up for the Wellness plan for our new puppy back in March. I was told over the phone that this covers all vaccines, preventative care, unlimited visits, and his neuter. Our first visit the Vet informed us that he needed heart worm meds (which should be considered preventative but is not) we had to have an additional $5 a month tacked on to our wellness plan to cover the cost. We were told that the plan doesn't cover everything. That if he were to become ill or was injured that we would have to pay out of pocket for ... read more

I have been going to Banfield for a number of years and been satisfied with the service. This February I adopted a puppy and went to Banfield in Woodbridge and signed up for the wellness plan. In April my pet woke with lameness in his leg I called Banfield and they said they did not have time to see him and recommended I call another emergency vet service. So I did and they took care of my Brady. Several months later the lameness returned in the other leg and again I called Banfield and they were all booked and could not see... read more

I will never be taking my furr baby there again. We took my baby in because she seemed to have injured herself while coming down the stairs, she couldnt walk and was crying and shaking. When i got to the banfield location, i told the lady that my puppy seemed to be in alot of pain and i had no clue what was going on. She told me that the Dr was in a room so it might be a while to talk to her. She went to the back and came back and told me that the Dr had said that she couldnt see her, i even offered to wait after she was don... read more

I haven't really had any major complaints about this vet outside of long wait times to be seen until NOW. I brought my year old dog ***** to the Brick Banfield (hospital #****) vet on 8/1/17 where I have taken him since he was a young pup. (Has had the OWP since going there little over a year ago) He was due for a Comprehensive Exam and 2 shots. First the vet tech in the room w/us was taking information on how *******been, any problems etc. She then went to get the vet to give the shots (and do the exam I thought) 10 minutes... read more

Business response:

Ms. ********; We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Your experience , as described above, falls below our expectations of our hospital teams. We will be investigating this and will have someone reach out to you directly to discuss things further.

My puppy was vaccinated yesterday morning without my consent by one of the vets at the Cypress Petsmart Banfield clinic. We were there for a free first visit. I agreed to a fecal exam and my puppy was taken to the back. A short time later the tech comes in and says the fecal was all clear and they went ahead and did the boosters. I quickly said, "Oh no" the tech replied, "oh she did fine" I then told her I did not want vaccines at this visit. The vet then came in and casually mentioned that I was busy (I had my 3 month old w... read more

The plans and the care are not bad, but the corporate side is a nightmare: - should you ever have to make changes the customer service and the wait times are insane - they make you pay for the whole year if you try to cancel - they make you CALL ONLY and wait over 30 minutes to cancel

Business response:

Ms. ******; We are sorry to hear of your recent interactions when trying to reach the home office. We do not that our call volume can create extended hold times. We are always looking for ways to improve our systems and reduce these frustrations.

Had difficulty getting anyone to call me back with test results. I was finally contacted on a Sunday morning about my cat's fecal results and he had worms! They suggested a treatment plan that I had questions about, but the doctor did not return for her next shift until Friday, so I had to wait 6 days to speak with her. When Friday rolled around, she did not call. I attempted to call on my lunch hour and was told the doctor was too busy for me. I attempted one other afternoon call to no avail. I went in and offered to wait f... read more

I took my one year old Labrador to them to get him neutered. When I went to pick him up the vet told me the surgery went fine. A couple days later he's vomiting, not eating, and his stomach is distended. I took him to an emergency vet who ran some tests and determined that his urethra might have been nicked during the surgery. When they operated on him they found his prostate had been mistaken for a ******** and removed leaving the ******** in place. His urethra was shredded and his bladder damaged beyond repair. He died as ... read more

Business response:

Mr. ********, We are so sorry for your loss of ******. His condition that required more advanced surgery was rare, but we agree that the complications during/after his surgery should not have occurred. We are working to ensure this does not happen again. We also recognize that there is nothing we can do to bring ******back; however, we would still like to do what we can to help support you and your family. We will be reaching out to you shortly through the local Medical Director.

Banfield MAY hire qualified vets right out of school, but support staff and customer service people are out of bounds from the clinic to corporate. seems like all they care about is getting you on their monthly program and little else.we had an issue with a nasty threatening employee at Banfeild Mtka MN so decided to call corporate. they couldnt have been less caring and replied we would hear back in 2-3 days. they must have written my phone number down incorrectly because we never received a call. Going back to the minneton... read more
