My husband and I have been unable to close out our timeshare membership with Wyndham. We have not been able to enjoy it. We purchased under pressure and then after we have tried to use it and make the best of it the pressure of owning set in. We were even told that we can make money off of this and we have not. We have tried to contact Wyndham and utilize your resources before and nothing was done to help us. We purchased a Wyndham Timeshare on 8/4/2017 and did not know at the time that the sales agents were intentionally misrepresenting the product and the costs involved with being owners. The low monthly cost we were guaranteed by the sales agent, was over $1000 per month when all payments were factored in; and we did not know it would be this high until all the bills came in the mail. When we signed up with a WYNDHAM timeshare, no one gave us a chance to read the contract and the terms were never fully explained. We were rushed into signing without a complete review. We were NOT told maintenance fees would rise every year, they only emphasized that it was a great investment. We also were not told that our sons were required to inherit the constantly rising maintenance fees and would be obligated to pay for the rest of their lives. I am currently serving with the US Army in Korea, and expected to be treated with more respect than this! We have been lied to about absolutely everything from our very first interaction involving this Wyndham timeshare. We were told that we would be able to save monthly and that there were properties all over the world. When we purchased this Wyndham timeshare at the Opryland Resort in Nashville, we were told that we would be able to travel with our family and friends and be able to have it for a lifetime to give to our daughter(which turned out to be the worst part of all this). Then, we found out that the weeks you request are not available even if you attempt to book in a timely manner. We were in the Wyndham timeshare presentation for about 3 hours. We finally said one of our handclapped grandchildren has diabetes and had to have food, WE WERE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE; AND THE CHILD STARTED HAVING SEIZURES!!. The Wyndham sales people misrepresented the true costs of the timeshares and tricked me into thinking I was buying something with value. No one explained the terms to me, and I was not given a chance to read any of the contracts before signing. I have used the timeshare only twice and for a total of 14 nights. I will not use this timeshare ever again, and simply have decided it is not worth the costs. The worst part of Wyndham ownership is the access to get to the properties where we want to vacation. They are also unavailable and if they are the dates are blacked out or taken. Everytime we brought this up during meetings we were told to buy more points of upgrade, so we did upgrade twice, once in 2018 and again in 2019. Our situation never changed and we are still having the same problems but with bigger payments. We have invested over $100,000 with no ability to use it. This Wyndham timeshare has put my wife into a horrible depression! We have lost the desire to even use the timeshare because of the hassles to use it as well. We have stayed in some that were not even nice and we don't even get a special room that we had requested. Also, refrigerators were not even working in a few places. Doors didn't lock, Microwave dirty, rugs were dirty and wet, a number of things were not in order for the money that we had spent to stay in a "nice" resort.
