WE ARE EXTREMELY DISPLEASED WITH THIS WYNDHAM TIMESHARE! WE ARE PAYING MONTHLY FOR SOMETHING THAT WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO USE ONCE A YEAR, AND IT IS A LOT CHEAPER IF WE JUST BOOKED A VACATION OURSELVES. We have paid to date, $16,690 in the original contract and $3,274 in the upgrade for our Wyndham timeshare and we were shown pictures of beautiful vacation spots and were also promised bonus locations. The pressure was high and was kept up, and several salespeople switched out and kept offering us different deals for several hours. The contract was entered in October 2013 at Kingsgate in Williamsburg VA. Cost was $10,429 with a mortgage of $8,343.20. Monthly maintenance fee was $49.68. One star only because 0 is not an option. Don't do it. They bait and switch with Discovery package. You can only book at resorts where sales has another opportunity to harass you. You can "buy" points only MUCH cheaper if you really want to do this because they are looking for the maintenance fees to be paid - forever. They claim (at least a sales person in NOLA) that if you sell your ownership that the new buyer won't have the same inventory available as an inherited family member. After purchasing the Wyndham timeshare I wanted to cancel and missed the cut off day. I called after my initial vacation which was 5 days and they said that the 5 day cut off included weekends--which was not mentioned!! That put me on day six--I am wanting out, but I have had no luck with Wyndfham helping me! I finally booked a cruise with my timeshare. Every time we would vacation we would be required to attend a meeting with Wyndhamvin which we were urged to upgrade to maximize points. We went on a family trip to Orlando and attended a meeting with my parents. The representatives told us we should combine our contract with my parents to have more be nefits which required purchasing more points. The Wyndham sales staff were SO persistent and called us all day long trying to get us to sign a timeshare contract. After all the pressure and stress they finally got us to crack and sign a contract, but we were never even given the time to read all of it! After signing the contract we then found out how bad a timeshare was. It was difficult to make a reservation to any destination we really wanted and to get the days we wanted anywhere was impossible. We can't get out of these WYNDHAM timeshares!! In each upgrade case, we were not given time to read the contracts before assigning---- and no one explained the terms to us. We have experienced severe problems of all kinds due to this timeshare, and we were never told that maintenance fees rise every year. Since owning this timeshare, we have rented it out 4 times for a total of 15 nights and we have used it ourselves only twice and for a total of 12 nights--and we were charged more than $52,633.10. My friend and I were in San Antonio for the day and offered tickets to the boat tour at the River Walk, if we would hear a presentation with Wyndham. This meeting took up 5 hours of our day on July 17, 2019. Lou, the Wyndham representative working with us, gave us a 100% guarantee we could book anything we wanted with an $18,000 purchase.
