These people are crooks. They change their "terms and conditions" without notification. Since they own the tank that is buried in my yard, I have no choice but to use Sawyer. They know this, and take advantage of customers through their pricing.

Business response:

All customers are notified about updates to our Terms and Conditions via various methods including invoices, post cards, emails, etc. We apologize if you feel you were not notified in a proper manner. Your local office will be able to discuss pricing options as well as any other concerns you are having in order to come to a satisfactory resolution.

Greedy crooks !! When we bought our home the tank was already with amerigas so we never signed any contract with them. We changed propane company when we found other fuel places had gas for over a $1.00 cheaper only to find out that amerigas doesn't have the same price for every customer, the less amount of fuel you use the more you are paying, sounds like they are running an illegal business to us ! Now they think we owe them for coming out to pick up the tank, which took them almost 1 month to come out and get, it's a sham... read more

Business response:

We apologize that you were dissatisfied with charges associated with your propane account. AmeriGas strives to be completely transparent by discussing any possible fees and charges in our Terms and Conditions. Additionally, our pricing structure is outlined in our Terms and Conditions, which can be found online at www.amerigas.com or can be mailed or emailed upon customer request.

ZERO STARS!! After multiple conversations, have yet to resolve billing issues with Cooper Gas. Was told that my invoices are not true reflection of what's on my account in their system. EXACTLY how am I supposed to know what's on my account??? After paying bill in full, received another invoice stating owed $163.03???? Customer service (or lack thereof) representative states unless a full tank delivery, there is tank rental fee but nowhere in terms and conditions does it state so. https://www.amerigas.com/terms-and-conditions... read more

Business response:

The local office has been in contact in an attempt to resolve any billing issues as well as to offer assistance towards the balance due. Although the exact amount of usage required to avoid the tank rental charge is not mentioned in our Terms and Conditions, the policy does state that, "The amount of rent can vary depending on, among other things, the size of the tank, the location of the residence, and your annual usage. Please contact your local office if you have questions about the Tank Rent that is applicable to you."

Charged us 50% more than going rate for gas, with no interaction. We've been a will-call customer for ten years and this has never happened. It's ridiculous. $4.99/gal? What the heck?

Business response:

Pricing can fluctuate from delivery to delivery. Our pricing structure is outlined in our Terms and Conditions, which can be viewed online at www.amerigas.com or can be emailed or mailed upon customer request. As a courtesy, this most recent delivery was re-billed at $3.99 per gallon.

I was a customer for 8 years, my now ex wife set up.and managed the account for the time she lived here. After becoming disabled in a wheelchair the first winter after she left I ran out of propane because I couldn't get to the tanks to check them. I didnt manage the account due to 150+ days in the hospital. I called in to ask for delivery and was told it's a $375 emergency delivery fee, plus $175 to check the pilots plus the cost of propane and they couldn't get there for 3 days. I'm on a limited income and refused the over... read more

Business response:

A name change was requested on 5/15/2018 and was completed on 5/15/2018. The account is on a Will Call basis, which means the customer is responsible to contact the office when propane is needed. A delivery request came in on 1/16/2019 and was delivered on 1/17/2019 at no additional charge as a courtesy to Mr. Reynolds due to Mr. Reynolds circumstances. On 9/20/2019 a request came in for removal of the propane tanks, the local office did disclose charges for removal including $59.99 service dispatch charge and $80.00 for rem... read more

I can understand all the one stars now..So my wife and I have been on auto now for a good while where they just come and check it and top it off if needed..I have no problem with that as we have small kids..Yesterday we came home and it was 58 in the house, so I checked the tank and empty..Had my wife call and see if they could come on out and fill it up..So Jackie that works in the office informed my wife that a truck would not come to our property unless we first paid a 175.00 fee for not being on the schedule for the day ... read more

Business response:

We apologize for the inconvenience of having an interruption in your propane services. Our records indicate that the account has been on a Will Call basis since 2016 per customer request. The $175.00 charge is being credited from the account, due to the confusion. The account is being left on Will Call based on the most recent discussion regarding this situation. If this is incorrect, we encourage contact with the local office immediately to avoid any further issues.

AmeriGas has terrible customer service. My whole experience with the Lakeland office has been horrilbe. I have switched gas companies and will never use AmeriGas again and I will tell everyone I know to avoid them at all costs.

Business response:

Ms. Heddon, we apologize that the local office could not meet your customer service expectations. The local representatives attempted to rectify the situation by offering credits to the account when interruptions of service did occur, due to inconsistent propane usage. We do take any complaint very seriously and it is our mission to continually improve our processes.

One star is too much for this Propane company. They are more interested in charging fees and punitive charges than selling propane. They lie when talking to you and make up stories to justify charging punitive charges. To make matters worst, if you do not pay the unjust punitive charges they add an additional fee of $35 a month until the silly fees are paid. If not paid they send your information to a collecting agency to further harass you. My advice is to stay away from this propane company because they are relentless and ... read more

Would give 0 stars but that is not an option. I called to set up service for my new mobile home at a mobile home park. At first I was told no problem, they took all the information and that someone would call me back with my account number and payment. I recived no call so I called them, the first time I was told there was no meter on my lot and hung up on. I called back the next day and am now being told that they are not adding any new meters at this time and that I would have to get a propane tank on my lot and go with a ... read more

Business response:

Initially, there were delays with setting up the account due to the inability to access the home during scheduled appointment times. Additionally, the local office did have to convert some appliances to be compatible with propane before set-up could be completed. Service was initiated and there is currently an account open under account number 103900725. We apologize for any delay or confusion surrounding your initial set-up.
