Got a post card stating as low as $1.30 gallon plus $20 off. Called and they couldn't figure it out and transfered me 3 different areas before they would have to call me back. They offered me $2.21 a gallon - scam!
Business response:
Mr. Bell, we apologize for the inconvenience that you experienced. As stated on the postcard $1.30 is a possible price per gallon, however pricing structure may vary even with promotional deals based on various additional factors. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to better the customer experience for future dealings.
Less than 1 star if I could be more accurate. I terminated my account 28 March 2020, it is now 21 July 2020. I have called and called this local Amerigas company in Commerce, GA but they say they can't pick up their tank. I keep calling and get ZERO results. I have accused them of abandoning the tank and they have still shown no result. It is currently in my way for future plans in that area of my yard. They say they are busy but I know they're not to the point of totally disregarding me for more than three months. I will ne... read more
Business response:
Mr. Ruiz, we apologize for the inconvenience that you have experienced due to the delay in the removal of your tank. After a review of your account, I have confirmed that the tank was removed on 7/23/2020. AmeriGas appreciates all feedback, and this will be used to continue to improve our customer service.
I canceled my service in January. After numerous calls, they finally picked up my tank in July. Then charged me $69.99 for the pickup. They said it was contractual. I was a customer for quite some time. I could see if I switched within a year l, and receiving a pick up fee. But, waiting 7 months is excessive
Business response:
Ms. Pederson, we do apologize for the delay in the removal of your propane tank. As with many companies, there are charges associated with services provided by our service technicians. Additionally, we strive to be completely transparent with all fees and charges within our Terms and Conditions, which can be accessed at any time via AmeriGas.com or can be mailed/emailed to you upon your request.
I’ve been trying to get propane delivered to my home for over a month now I called and set a new account up told them to call 30 minutes ahead of time . The driver shows up without calling I was down the street talked to my daughter and left without filling my tank, I then called the office and they said since I was a new customer they need to do a leak check and they would call and schedule me the next week wrong. I’ve called the customer service number only to be told I have to wait 72 hrs for local manager to call me whic... read more
Business response:
After a review of our system, it has been confirmed that once your account was created on 6/29/2020 a delivery occurred on 7/10/2020. We do apologize for any delay in service. We understand the frustration of the initial set-up, however, your safety is our #1 priority which is why a leak check must occur before or at the time of delivery for new customers. At AmeriGas, we are always striving to perfect the customer experience.
horrible customer service, uneducated individuals who works there period. I, hate their service.
Business response:
Ms. Watson, I apologize for the poor customer service experience that you have mentioned in your review. Unfortunately, with the information provided, I am unable to locate an account for you making it difficult to perform a further review and correction of the customer service issues you have experienced with your local office.
Gas Pains. After high prices and bad delivery during the initial use, we cancelled the service in 2018. Their tanks then sat on our property for over two years. Then one day, unannounced, during the March / April peak of COVID-19 in California, an Amerigas driver pulls up, parks, exits his vehicle without a mask and proceeds to walk towards me. I asked him to put on a mask to which he replied, "I already had the virus and I'm fine." After a very heated exchange of words, he finally left the property. Then I got a bill for "s... read more
Business response:
Mr. Staskewicz, after investigating the concerns raised in your complaint it has been noted that the local manager did attempt to resolve the concerns you had with the service technician as well as with your billing. The bill was reduced by half in an attempt to find a "middle ground" resolution. Again, we apologize for the unsatisfactory experience with the service technician. We value your feedback as we are always striving to better each and every customer interaction.
They charged me a rediculous 36.00 late charge on an 85.22 tank rental bill. Obsurd late charge after 30 days only
Business response:
Russell, as with many companies, invoices are due 30 days after the original posting date. Additionally, the Late Fee policy is outlined in our Terms and Conditions for complete transparency. These Terms and Conditions can be accessed anytime via AmeriGas.com or can be mailed/emailed to you upon request.
Switched to a competitor and was told tank had to be 5% or below to avoid a pump out charge. Was never informed that there was a fee just to pick up the tank! Called on December 23rd to have the tank picked up and was told that was not their highest priority...it might be a while. Waited 2 months for them to pick up the empty tank at the end of February and then received a $69.99 bill! Ridiculous. How about a fee for storing their tank on my property for two months??? I paid these people thousands of dollars for propane over... read more

Be careful with Amerigas. After a long term user of Amerigas I went to disconnect my Mother's service because of her death. They charge a $69.99 disconnection fee and they DONOT reimburse for gas that is in the tank.
Business response:
Brenda, I do apologize for the passing of your mother. As for the charges associated with the closure of the account, removal of the tank as well as our policies regarding a refund for the propane left in the tank upon removal are outlined in our Terms and Conditions for transparency. With the information provided, I am unable to review your mother's previous account with us and therefore unable to see if we can provide any relief for previous charges.
