I bought my own 500 gals tank from Ferrell in 2010. I filled it up once a year. I had the safety valve replaced in 2017 by Allstate when they filled up my tank. In 2018, Ferrell filled up my tank, and they did not say anything wrong with my valve nor my tank. In March 2019, I ordered 200 gals from Amerigas. They filled up my tank instead, total 346 gals. I notified them, but did not complain because they offered me a good price as "new customer". In May, the customer service called and told me they had to send a tech to do s... read more
Worst company on the planet, they overcharge for everything, employees are very rude, they lie cheat and steal from the customers. Stay away from this organized crime syndicate.
I would rate a zero if it was available. I had Cress Gas for probably 20 years if not more. All of a sudden, my fill up bills double and tripled. I read online that they are now Amerigas. I thought it was just the price of gas going up. I called around and other companies were around 80 cents to a dollar cheaper per gallon. I contacted them and asked to remove the tank since I no longer wanted to do business with them. They did come out and take it, but sent me a bill for sixty bucks. I have called repeatedly and talked to A... read more
Business response:
The local Manager followed up with the customer. The Manager has agreed to remove the charge as a courtesy. The pick up fee was a legitimate fee and was disclosed prior to the tank removal. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to Ms. R*******.
The woman at the front desk gives me nothing but excuses and lies. The delivery guys have told me she's not honest or nice to customers. She waits until I'm out if propane All the Time then charges me a $150 emergency delivery fee. Terrible customer service. The only honesty I get is from the delivery guy. He's honest and helps light my pilot lights.
Business response:
The local Manager was unsuccessful in contacting Ms. Langtry. He left his contact information in hopes of discussing the above issues.
The only reason I am giving them 1 star is because I can’t give them no stars! This is the most disorganized company I have even encountered. No one ever answers the phone and they do not have an answering machine to leave a message. I have been charged fee after fee because my account is past due. They have never applied my past 2 payments to my account yet they have cleared my bank. I can’t get in touch with anyone in the office to even let them know. Before this mishap, they were trying to hold me accountable for a renter... read more
This is one of the worse companies I have had to deal with in a while. We purchased our home in summer of 2017 with a AmeriGas tank on it. It had quite a bit left so we gave them a try. First we had a gas leak from the tank burning from 60% down to 20% in a very short time. They proceed to to credit us a whopping $30 for all the gas lost and sent us a bill in the hundreds to refill it. While there they told us they would come clean up our tank in the spring since this tank is very old (1953 to be exact), a huge eye sore in t... read more

Just an update. They finally did come get our tank after writing this review BUT now they want to bill me for finally coming and picking up there own tank, months after it should have already been gone. Sorry but this company does not deserve another penny from me.
This company does not value their customers. We inherited AmeriGas because they bought Shenandoah Valley Propane several years ago. I would have never chosen this company. They charge you any way they can. We currently have a 500 gallon tank. I called the Harrisonburg, Virginia office several days ago to inquire about downsizing our tank to a smaller one because we aren't using as much fuel. I was told there is a $ 195.99 tank change out fee plus $149.00 pump out fee. Really, but we are already customers?? $345.00, just to d... read more
AmeriGas Propane operates unethically by forcing customers to pay egregious amounts up front for deliveries, or making a yearly "contract" with customers for feasible monthly payments. Here's my story: I have been forced to use an AmeriGas tank for 5 years, given nobody else (the more honest companies) will serve a tank "owned" by AmeriGas. It costs close to 2K to lay a new gas line with another more reliable company. About 70% or more of hardworking Americans cannot afford a $400 setback or emergency...that includes me. So ... read more
Business response:
Ms. ***** was participating in the SmartPay Budget Plan. Our SmartPay Budget Plan is an optional program that allows customers to make convenient monthly payments. It should be noted that under this program although the monthly payments are fixed, customers may have to pay a settle-up amount when the contract ends. Since Ms. ***** set up her account on auto-pay, her settle-up amount was debited as expected when her contract ended. We understand she is currently out of propane but a payment would need to be made in order to r... read more
This company is terrible to deal with. When I first ordered service with them I had to call the customer service agent multiple times for a course of a month to get an application to request service. Every time I called I was always told I would get a call back or an email. I should of known then and there not to use their company. I was told a date that they would come out and no one showed up, it took me two days to get in touch with someone about this matter. I wrote a complaint considering it took them two months to come... read more
Business response:
Ms. Wright’s account was set up as will call. Meaning she was responsible for monitoring the propane in her tank and for calling to schedule deliveries. We recommend to our will call customers that they call when their tank is 25-30% full so that we have enough time to make a delivery to their property before their tank is empty. Unfortunately, we removed the tank from her property due to non-payment. We apologize for any inconvenience.
