For years, never had a problem with Trenton Gas. Some years we prepaid to get the better rates, other years we called in the order. No problems, Ever! Amerigas took over. 1. converted my contract to we deliver when we feel like it. 2. went from competitive price to 25% higher than the other 3 local companies. 3. NEVER returned calls for parts to propane equipment that they sold me. 4. NEVER returned call about conversions of equipment. The only time I got a call was from a different office because I dared to not give them a ... read more

i just called Amerigas in Litchfield CT to request a propane refill. The big noreaster has knocked out the power in most of the area and the utility service says we will not be back up for at least 3 more days! Amerigas wants a $175 delivery fee to fill my tank as their offices will not be open until Monday. This is blatant price gouging during a serious time of need all over the area. They know they have no power and are holding me hostage!!!

Customer Service in the Honesdale PA office is terrible. We’ve been Amerigas customers for over 16 years. We ran out of gas due to lack of delivery. Per account details on Amerigas website on 2/12/18 we were due for delivery 1/29/18 but the delivery wasn’t made. The Lackawaxen area was experiencing below freezing temperatures during at this time. It took 5 days to get a delivery with no heat. We took off from work to come to PA because there was no heat in the house and we were concerned about a freeze up. We were lied to al... read more

Business response:

We do apologize for the delay in the delivery, Ms. G****** received a delivery of 412.4 gallons on Feb. 16, 2018.

This company has the worst billing service. I was a customer for 4 years with them and always paid in advance for my propane. Everytime I would have a tank filled they would send me a bill and I would have to call and dispute it. It became annoying so I switched companies. After 1.5years of not using them they decided to send me a bill for terminating service with them! Who does this?? Just avoid doing business with this company. Very poor service and way over priced.

After first letting my tank run dry in the middle of winter and then failing to deliver more propane until several days after it was promised, Amerigas more than doubled their price compared to other local suppliers with no warning. They would not negotiate and I was forced to pay over $1,000 for about 230 gallons of propane. Forced to cancel their service, now they have charged me $60 to remove their equipment from my property. Amerigas is an unscrupulous company actively engaged in gouging their customers.

Watch your Bill! Price gouge! They charged $4.86 / gal. Compared with 3 other companies at average of $3.00 / gal.

Unashamed price gouging. I just received a bill for the latest delivery charging $3.35 / gallon, when the going rate with the other companies in this area is $1.79. Contacted their company service and was basically told to go pound sand, that's how much they were going to charge me. That's greater than an 80% gouge on what the price should be. Will be changing over to Ferrell Gas as my new propane supplier.

Business response:

We’re sorry that we were not able to meet your expectations. Your business is important to us. If you contact our local office they can explain other pricing options that can give you some price assurance for future deliveries.
